Rezoning Creekwood Crossing/Silverspring
On November 17, 2004 approximately 65 members of both the Creekwood Crossing and Creekwood Highlands Homeowners’ Associations met to discuss the proposed development for the southwest corner of Creekwood Crossing and Silver Spring Drive. This development would include a restaurant and two 7,500 square feet strip mall-type buildings. However, in order for the developer to proceed with this proposed plan, the land would need to be rezoned from the current, more restrictive C-6 Office District, to the less restrictive C-1 Neighborhood Business District. (See ZONE DESCRIPTIONS) With either of these zonings, we can anticipate a restaurant, with access from Creekwood Crossing, rather than Silver Spring, being built on the lot.
The meeting attendees voiced concerns regarding the potential business types within the mall, noise, traffic, child and property safety, as well as property value decline in relationship to the proposal. Additionally, there was discussion regarding concessions wanted by the Creekwood residents should any commercial enterprises be built on the site.
The Menomonee Falls Planning Commission will make a recommendation regarding this proposal at a meeting scheduled for December 7, 2004 at 7 pm in the Village of Menomonee Falls Board Room #2245 W157 N 8480 Pilgrim Road. In order to influence the decision, it is important that a significant number of the Creekwood subdivisions
residents voice their opinions at this meeting. You are strongly encouraged to attend.
