Weather Forecast -It’s going to be pretty yucky. The weekend looks to be wet with storms rolling in tonight with strong ones possible on Friday continuing into Saturday. The storms roll out and then it gets hotter reaching a high on Wednesday of 98. The lows for the week are pretty much either 73 or 74. Luckily, I fly out Tuesday for Seattle where even there the highs will be in the 80’s.
As I mentioned above, I leave Tuesday morning for some work life balance in Seattle. That means that you may not see a work life balance edition next week so plan ahead with this one. There is enough to do this week to keep you very busy but plan to hydrate as it will be hot and humid. If you were planning on Movies in the Park tonight, it is a casualty of the expected wet weather. In fact, you should probably check websites for any events this weekend which are planned for outside. If the weather cooperates, you have fun options including City Farmhouse Pop Up Fair, RC Cola and Moon Pie Festival, Jefferson Street Jazz &Blues Festival, East Side Social, SuperCoolFunFest, WesthavenPorchfest, Nissan Taste of Music City, Vintage Baseball, and lots more. If you want to stay indoors you might check out Star Trek in Concert in HD with the Nashville Symphony, Music City Improv, Bianca Del Rio's Rolodex of Hate Comedy Special, QDP, Laser Shows at Adventure Science, and lots of fun at the Farmer’s Market celebrating Peach Jam. It’s also your last weekend to see the Alan Jackson exhibit at the Country Music Hall of Fame. The weather looks better for Make Music Nashville on Sunday with events all across the city.
Speaking of music, there are a lot of tickets going on sale this weekend. I would think seriously about buying the wristband for the Americana Music Festival. It gives you entry into all the venues for all of the festival and is just $50. Two new shows are coming to Ascend: Janet Jackson and Florence and the Machine. Two of my favorites are coming to the Ryman. Dolly Parton is coming in July and Brandi Carlile in October. Also coming to the Ryman: Twenty One Pilots.Tickets go on sale also for two shows at the Schermerhorn:Pokémon: Symphonic Evolutionswith the Nashville Symphony and The Hank and Cash Legacy. Finally, tickets are available for the Music City Food & Wine Festival.

Featured Place of the Week
Tempered European Indulgence – 1201 5th Ave North–If you know me or have been reading this email for a while, you know how much I love sweets and chocolate. For some reason, I just seem to find my way to new places that offer them. I heard of this place in Germantown and so I made my way there to check it out. Tempered European Indulgence brings Europe to Nashville. Specialties include truffles, Belgian waffles, baguette sandwiches and wine/ cheese pairings. I am all in. I stopped in and tried the 4 pack of truffles which was just $7. There are numerous choices including white chocolate, milk chocolate, white chocolate cinnamon hibiscus, toasted caramel milk chocolate, milk chocolate buttercream, and more. You can go with friends and enjoy a Tempered Board which is a combination of imported meats and cheeses, creamed honey, jam, and bread. There are Belgian waffles, croissant sandwiches, and a selection of wines. In other words, there are a lot of reasons to visit this place. They are open Monday: 7:30AM-5PM, Tuesday-Thursday 7:30AM-10:00PM, Friday: 7:30AM-11:00PM, Saturday: 9:00AM- 11:00PM, and Sunday: 9:00AM-9:00PM.More information at
