ESOL Summary:

30% of our students met the AMAO goal of moving up one performance band as measured by the ACCESS Test. 32% of our students exceeded the AMAO goal by moving up two or more performance bands. However, 38% of our students showed no positive band movement. 62% of our students met or exceeded the AMAOgoal of moving up one performance band, which greatly surpassed the state goal of 54%. 15% of ELs attained proficiency in English and exited the ESOL program.

What does the data tell us?

The data tells us that we need to increase our percentage of students meeting or exceeding the AMAO goal. We also need to maintain performing above the state goal of 55% for 2015-2016.

Strengths:

Our strengths are in thelistening and speaking domains. The listening and speaking domains are weighted 15% each on the ACCESS Test.

Weaknesses:

Overall, reading and writing are our weakest areas. The reading and writing domains are weighted 35% each on the ACCESS Test.
