~ STEWARDSHIP ~
Among the compelling Eucharistic themes proclaimed in
Today’s readings is the notion of “participation” as found
in Saint Paul’s letter to the Corinthians. Good stewards are part of a Eucharistic family: loving, welcoming, serving. An important part of living as a steward comes about in the many ways we can participate in the life of the Church. No matter how much time we have to give, no
matter what our skills or interests, no matter what our level of commitment, there is a way to participate as a good steward to enrich our lives and the lives of others to build up the Body of Christ. How do you participate in the life of your parish?

~ FROM THE PASTOR'S DESK ~
The Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ
How precious is the Gift we have received: the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Our Lord Jesus Christ! Present in all of the tabernacles of the world and made present on the altar, Jesus continues to give of Himself totally and completely to the people He loves. Receiving the Eucharist is not merely a pious act or an outward ritual. Receiving the Eucharist is a commitment in our belief in the God we receive and by this reception offering ourselves back to the Lord in order that we might be transformed into that person He created us to be. All too often our reception of the Sacrament is taken for granted, but we need to stop and pause and be grateful that we have been chosen to receive this most precious Gift and chosen to be His people: a people fed by the Bread of Life. May we receive this Gift worthily and may we believe in the Gift we receive and offer constant thanks to God for this wondrous Gift and Favor.
A Holy Hour for the annual Fortnight for Freedom will be held this Thursday evening, June 22nd, the Vigil of the Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, at 7:00 p.m. at St. Stephen Church, Indian Creek. The Holy Hour will include Exposition of the Most Blessed Sacrament, Liturgy of the Word and Homily, Rosary and Benediction of the Most Blessed Sacrament. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to pray for religious freedom in our nation and throughout the world. This year’s theme is: “Freedom for Mission.”
The Masses next weekend will be celebrated as The Feast of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, the Patroness of our Diocese. All prayers and reading will not be in the Missalette.
I wish a Happy Father’s Day to all of the fathers, and expecting fathers of the parish. This is a special vocation from God to lead lives of holiness and set a faith-filled example for your children. May each of you be strengthened by the Lord in your vocation of fatherhood and, through the intercession and model of St. Joseph, be the guardian and guide this vocation from God calls you to be.

FOR FATHERS YOUNG AND OLD.
WE PRAY FOR YOUNG FATHERS, NEWLY EMBRACING THEIR VOCATION; MAY THEY FIND COURAGE AND PERSEVERANCE
TO BALANCE WORK, FAMILY AND FAITH IN JOY AND SACRIFICE.
WE PRAY FOR FATHERS AROUND THE WORLD WHOSE CHILDREN ARE LOST OR SUFFERING;
MAY THEY KNOW THAT THEGOD OF COMPASSIONWALKS WITH THEM IN THEIR SORROW.
WE PRAY FOR MEN WHO ARE NOT FATHERS
BUT STILL MENTOR AND GUIDE US
WITH FATHERLY LOVE AND ADVICE.
WE REMEMBER FATHERS, GRANDFATHERs,
AND GREAT GRANDFATHERS
WHO ARE NO LONGER WITH US
BUT WHO LIVE FOREVER IN OUR MEMORY
AND NOURISH US WITH THEIR LOVE.
