1. Action from the Department of Curriculum & Instruction

1.1. Course Revision – Course Title Change - CL – CIGENRL 461: Organization, Administration and Coordination of Web-Based Learning Programs

Terri Frame and Marshall Anderson moved approval of area V.C.2. After much discussion, there was a motion to table by Zach Oster and Terri Frame. This motion passed unanimously.
The concerns raised by the committee were:

·  Should this course be offered for credits to degree, or be offered at the developmental level (090, for example)?

·  If the course is offered as a 100-level course, should it be 3 credits?

·  The proposal states that the course was created for a very small, specific cohort of students, but then states a desire to open the course to the general campus. If that is the case, then the content overlaps with other courses on campus, including courses in SPECED, EDFOUND, and SOCIOLOGY. Why not utilize an existing course?

Angela Harlan will reach out to Elizabeth Watson and Sara Vogt on these issues and ask that they attend our next meeting.
