1.  Nancy cut a ribbon into 8 equal pieces. If the ribbon was 26 m long, how many meters long was each piece?

2.  Mrs. York bought 3 m of cloth. She used the cloth to make 9 pillow cases of the same size. How much cloth in meters did she use for each pillow case?

3.  Mary baked 10 cakes of the same size. She divided the cakes into 4 equal shares. How many cakes were there in each share?

4.  You found two pieces of wood in a closet that you want to cut into equal length pieces. One is 12 feet long, the other is 27 feet long. (LCM or GCF) _____

5.  For parts a, b imagine that you and a friend are walking around a track in the same direction. You start from the same place at the same time. It takes you 6 minutes to walk one lap, and your friend takes 8 minutes to walk one lap. (LCM or GCF) _____

a.  After how many minutes will you and your friend be at the same place on the track?

b.  How many laps will you have walked at that time? How many laps will your friend have walked?

6.  Mr. Wilson has a problem. He can’t sleep when the dogs in his neighborhood start howling at the full moon. Luckily, it takes the sound of two dogs barking at the same time to awake him. Last night, Sparky started barking at 1:00 a.m. and barked every 12 minutes. Trigger also started at 1:00 a.m. and barked every 14 minutes. After Mr. Wilson fell back to sleep, he woke up again when Sparky and Trigger barked simultaneously. What time was it? (LCM or GCF) _____

7.  A group of people share a rectangular lasagna cut into 18 pieces and a round cake cut into 12 pieces. If everyone is served equal amounts of lasagna, what is the largest number of people the group might contain? (LCM or GCF) _____
