Purpose of Job

To inspire residents to get involved and take ownership of the new Big Local programme on Aberfeldy, building on recent existing work and volunteers projects, using imaginative ways to outreach and engage residents to do things with Big Local.

To work with colleagues, stakeholders and volunteers to help residents to build up a vision of what Big Local can achieve on Aberfeldy, and contribute to forming the Partnership and the Plan.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  1. To engage with Aberfeldy residents, make them aware of Big Local, listen to their ideas for the estate, and help build a resident vision for Big Local on the estate, organising a wide variety of imaginative consultation opportunities for local residents to help develop the vision, and evaluate responses.
  2. To inspire, encourage and support residents to engage and volunteer in various ways in Big Local, including supporting them to develop low cost “quick win” projects to help raise the profile of Big Local, and also to identify potential project champions.
  3. To build on recent work with local volunteers, staff and stakeholders, and to work alongside them, ensuring they are regular briefed, that the Big Local work complements work such as Well London, and that colleagues the opportunity to get involved where appropriate.
  4. To liaise with representatives from Local Trust and attend networking events or meetings to share ideas
  5. To work within the agreed budget to help deliver the Getting Started programme
  6. To support residents and stakeholders to form a long term Partnership Panel
  7. To record resident responses and details of respondees, and produce a final report about residents views for the vision, which will contribute to the Plan, and includes ongoing items for consideration and actions for the Partnership Panel.

General

  • Perform other duties as may be reasonably required by your line manager.
  • Conduct yourself in line with Poplar HARCA’spolicies, procedures, rules and standards.
  • Due to the nature of this post, employment in this role is dependent on a Vetting and Barring Scheme check.

  4. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  5. Computer literate and extensive working knowledge of MS office, (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
