Paid Internship - Personal Lines Actuarial Pricing:

Details of the Internship:

Dates: 10 week program June 4th-August 10th
Location: Jacksonville, FL
Working Hours: 8:00am - 4:15pm (37.5 Hours)
Pay: $14.00hr plus holiday pay(July 4th)

*Due to this position potentially leading to full-time employment, at this time we are not accepting applicants that require F1 Visa student or H1B Visa sponsorship.

Skills learned during the internship:

·  Conducts research, and extraction and manipulation of data to recommendproduct pricing rate indications for selected States.

·  Completes rate proposals (decision documents) and rate filings to the State departments of insurance.

Education and Experience Requirements:

·  Undergraduate studies in actuarial or business, statistics and/or mathematics.

·  Candidates that have completed or sitting for Actuarial exams or involved in a Actuarial club is preferred.

·  Preference given to candidates that anticipate graduating in 2019.

·  Please indicate your expected graduation date on your application, e.g., January 2019, May 2019, etc.

·  GPA of 3.0 or above.

·  Ability to focus on technical material;attention to detail.

·  Ability to communicate technical information both orally and in writing.

·  Ability to understand instructions and ask logical questions.

·  Demonstrates innovation and ability to generate alternative solutionsif/when difficulties occur that impact completion of assignments.

·  Strong problem-solving and analytical skills; prior experience in gathering, organizing and analyzing data.

·  Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.

·  Ability to work withing a team.

·  Some knowledge of working in a business office environment preferred.

·  Any prior internships or actuarial related work experience is of value.
