The WMA is looking for dynamic, motivated and result-oriented candidates to fill the following challenging positions:
1.  Internal Auditor – On contract
QUALIFICATIONS
By selection from among candidates who -
(i)  are member of one of the following bodies-
(a) The Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales
(b) The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland
(c) The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ireland
(d) The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants
(e) The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants
(f) The Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy
OR
An equivalent professional accountancy qualification acceptable to the Board.
(ii)  reckon at least two years’ post qualification experience in accountancy and auditing in a senior
position;
(iii)  are computer literate;
(iv)  possess good analytical and communication skills; and
(v)  have a high sense of personal credibility and integrity.
SALARY
Negotiable in the scale of Rs 28,625 x 775 – 32,500 x 925 – 37,125 x 1225 – 40,800 x 1525 – 49,950 x 1625 – 56,450.
2.  Engineer/Senior Engineer (Mechanical) – On contract
QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates should -
(i)  be registered as Professional Engineer (Mechanical Engineering) with the Council of Registered Professional
Engineers of Mauritius under Section 13 of Act No. 49 of 1965, as subsequently amended;
(ii)  be conversant with management of contracts;
(iii)  be conversant with public procurement office guidelines/ procedures of international funding agencies.
(iv)  be able to prepare and evaluate tender documents;
(v)  possess good organizing and supervisory skills;
(vi)  have good knowledge of health and safety regulations; and
(vii)  be computer literate.
SALARY
Negotiable in the scale of Rs 29, 400 x 775 – 32,500 x 925 – 37,125 x 1225 – 40,800 x 1525 – 49,950 x 1625 – 62,950.

3.  Systems Administrator – Permanent

QUALIFICATIONS

A degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or related fields from a recognized University; and

Candidates should:-

(i)  reckon at least 4 years working experience in systems administration and support;

(ii)  possess administration and support skills in the following Windows Servers Operating Systems 2003/2008/2012, Windows Desktops XP/7/8. Database Administration (SQL Server 2005/2008, Microsoft Exchange 2007, Symantec products, Hyper-Visor ;

(iii)  understand networking and security technologies;

(iv)  have experience in management of network applications such as Email, Intranets, DNS;

(v)  be able to cope with multi-tasking assignments; and

(vi)  have excellent analytical, interpersonal and communication skills.

SALARY

In the scale of Rs 26,300 x 775 – 32,500 x 925 – 37,125 x 1225 – 40,800 x 1525 – 49,950 x 1625 – 56,450.

4.  Planning & Transport Coordinator – Permanent

QUALIFICATIONS

By selection from among candidates who –

(i)  possess a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution or the Advanced Technician Diploma in Motor Vehicle Engineering or Motor Vehicle Systems awarded by the City and Guilds of London Institute or an equivalent qualification acceptable to the Board;

(ii)  reckon at least three years’ post qualification experience in the field of vehicle mechanics or a related field;

(iii)  are computer literate; and

(iv)  possess good organizing and communication skills.

SALARY

In the scale of Rs 20,525 x 475 –21,950 x 625 – 23,200 x 775 - 32,500 x 925 – 37,125 x 1225 – 40,800 x 1525 – 48,425.

5.  IT Analyst – Permanent

QUALIFICATIONS

A degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or Information Systems or Information Technology of any degree, the major part of which should be Computer Science or Computer Engineering or Information Systems or Information Technology, from a recognized institution or an equivalent qualification acceptable to the WMA Board.

Experience in the systems analysis, database design and operation of multi-user systems is desirable.

SALARY

In the scale of Rs 26,300 x 775 – 32,500 x 925 – 37,125 x 1225 – 40,800 x 1525 – 49,950 x 1625 – 56,450.

6.  IT Support Officer – Permanent

QUALIFICATIONS

A.  A Diploma in the field of Information and Communication Technology from a recognized institution or an equivalent qualification acceptable to the Board.

B.  Candidates should also-

(i)  possess administration and support skills in the following - Database Administration (Oracle, SQL, Server), UNIX (Solaris) and Windows Servers Operating Systems (2000 and 2003) and Windows Desktops (2000/XP); and

(ii)  have a good understanding of networking and security technologies and management of Network Applications such as Email, Intranets and DNS.

Possession of professional certifications such as MCSE/MCSA, Oracle DBA or UNIX Certification and working experience in System/Network Administration, is desirable.

SALARY

In the scale of Rs 19,575 x 475 – 21,950 x 625 – 23,200 x 775 – 32,500 x 925 – 37,125 x 1225 – 40,800 x 1525 – 42,325.

7.  Safety & Health Officer/ Senior Safety & Health Officer – Permanent

QUALIFICATIONS

A.  A Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety of the University of Mauritius or the Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health Management of the University of Technology, Mauritius or an equivalent qualification in accordance with Part 1 of the First Schedule to the Occupational Safety and Health Act.

B.  Candidates should -

(i)  be registered as Safety and Health Officer under Section 29 of the Occupational Safety

and Health Act 2005; and

(ii)  be computer literate

Experience in the field of occupational health and safety is desirable.

In the scale of Rs 19,575 x 475 – 21,950 x 625 – 23,200 x 775 – 32,500 x 925 – 37,125 x 1225 – 40,800 x 1525 – 42,325.

8.  Laboratory Technician – Permanent

QUALIFICATIONS

A.  Cambridge School Certificate with credit in at least five subjects including English Language, Chemistry and Physics or Biology obtained at not more than two sittings or Passes not below Grade C in at least five subjects including English Language, Chemistry and Physics or Biology obtained at not more than two sittings at the General Certificate of Education “Ordinary Level” provided that at one of the sittings, passes have been obtained either (i) in five subjects including English Language with at least Grade C in any two subjects or (ii) in six subjects including English Language with at least Grade C in any one subject.

Note

Candidates not possessing a credit in English Language at the Cambridge School Certificate will also be considered provided they possess passes in at least two subjects at “Principal Level” and one subject at “Subsidiary Level” as well as the General Paper obtained on one certificate at the Cambridge Higher School Certificate Examinations.

B.  A pass with at least Grade ‘C’ in Chemistry or Physics at “Principal Level” at the Cambridge Higher School Certificate Examinations or at the General Certificate of Education “ Advanced Level” or equivalent qualifications to A and B above acceptable to the Board.

C.  Candidates should be computer literate.

Qualifications at A above should have been obtained prior to qualification at B above.

SALARY

In the scale of Rs 17,375 x 325 – 17,700 x 375 - 19,575 x 475 – 21,950 x 625 – 23,200 x 775 – 32,500 x 925 – 35,275.

9.  Laboratory Assistant – Permanent

QUALIFICATIONS

A.  Cambridge School Certificate with credit in at least five subjects including English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics or Biology obtained at not more than two sittings or Passes not below Grade C in at least five subjects including English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics or Biology obtained at not more than two sittings at the General Certificate of Education “Ordinary Level” provided that at one of the sittings, passes have been obtained either (i) in five subjects including English Language with at least Grade C in any two subjects or (ii) in six subjects including English Language with at least Grade C in any one subject.

Note

Candidates not possessing a credit in English Language at the Cambridge School Certificate will also be considered provided they possess passes in at least two subjects at “Principal Level” and one subject at “Subsidiary Level” as well as the General Paper obtained on one certificate at the Cambridge Higher School Certificate Examinations.

B.  A Cambridge Higher School Certificate with passes at Principal Level in at least two subjects including Chemistry obtained on one certificate or Passes in at least two subjects including Chemistry obtained on one certificate at the General Certificate of Education “ Advanced Level” or equivalent qualifications to A and B above acceptable to the Board.

C.  The Internet and Computing Core Certification (IC3) with knowledge of office package or documentary evidences of any approved IT proficiency programme followed acceptable to the Board.

Experience in laboratory work in water sampling and/or analysis, is desirable.

Qualifications at A above should have been obtained prior to qualification at B above.

SALARY

In the scale of Rs 14,600 x 275 – 15,150 x 300 - 15,750 x 325 – 17,700 x 375 - 19,575 x 475 – 21,950 x 625 – 23,200 x 775 – 31,725.

AGE LIMIT (for permanent position)

Candidates, unless in the public sector, should not have reached their 40th birthday by the closing date of this advertisement.
