Houston Chapter of Credit Unions Opens Branches for Hurricane Katrina Donations
The Houston Chapter of Credit Unions has opened over 36 local
credit union branches in the greater Houston area to help disaster
victims forced from their homes by Hurricane Katrina.
Houston, TX, September 3, 2005.To aid the victims of Hurricane Katrina, the Houston Chapter of Credit Unions has designated over 36 credit union branches across the city as drop off centers for your donations. These donations will help aid the estimated 25,000 survivors that have been evacuated from the Super Dome in New Orleans to the Houston Astrodome.
All cash donations will go to the American Red Cross. Hurricane survivors are in need of personal hygiene products, non-perishable food items, clothes of all sizes and dry goods such as blankets, pillows, sheets, and clothes. Dry goods will be distributed to the Katrina victims through the Salvation Army.
Each of the credit unions listed below will accept and distribute donations to help the victims of Hurricane Katrina. Please call the contact numbers listed below to find out operational hours and directions.
