Mid Columbia Chapter Board of Governors Meeting was held at the office of Meier Enterprises, Inc. on July 25, 2006. Agenda items and decisions follow:
Highlight of Action Items:
- Lois Payne – Invitation rough draft for 25th anniversary will be emailed out by this Friday, the 28th of July. The final versions will go out after all comments incorporated.
- Rich Evans – Is going to look into the possibility of having a wine tasting on the 25th anniversary cruise.
- Rich Evans – Look into alcoholic beverage permit and cost for the 25th anniversary cruise.
- Lois Payne – Call Red Lion about appetizers
- Lois Payne- Call Tri-City River Cruises about wine tasting on boat, additional costs and restrictions.
- Jay Ashbaugh/Wei Jiang – Pay remainder of boat balance by 8/12/2006.
- Lois Payne – Email Jay May meeting minutes for checking account.
- Lois/Rich/Bing-Lunch cruise meeting on Friday 8/11/2006.
- Jay Ashbaugh – Finish making checking account changes.
- Committee Chairs – Make year goals of your committee and bring it for discussion at the next BOG meeting on 8/29/2006
- Wei Jiang – Contact John Sutton for the transition of the webmaster and update the chapters website.
- Jay Ashbaugh – Help Somasundaram with editing and gathering articles in the middle of August and distribute newsletter on Sept. 1, 2006.
- Wei Jiang – Test the Chapter Information Software (CIS) and manage database of members.
- Bing Liu – Send the revised budget plan to the BOG members.
- Discuss and Approve 2006-2007 Budget
- Bing Liu and Wei Jiang went over the 2006 – 2007 Mid Columbia ASHRAE budget.
- Seminar/workshop on commissioning was added to budget figures.
- Income and cost of 25th Anniversary program was added to budget figures.
- Dale Green moved to approve budget, Lois seconded the revised 2006-2007 budget was approved.
- Bank Account Signature Transfer
- Jay Ashbaugh to take the signed transfer form to bank to add Wei Jiang and Bing Liu to the bank accounts.
- Committee appointments
- CTTC – Lois Payne (chair), Bing Liu and Ron Jarnagin.
- Membership Promotion – Steve Strecker (chair) – Wei Jiang and Carl Brenneise – Wei to manage database of memberships.
- Research Promotion – Gil Hibbs (chair) – Dale Green.
- Historian Chair – Rich Evans.
- Student Activities Chair – left unfilled – we are not going to focus on this seat.
- Webmaster – Wei Jiang – added Carl Brenneise – goal to be more active this year.
- Newsletter Editor – Sriram Somasundaram added Jay Ashbaugh will provide the monthly program summary and distribute the newletters via email. Wei Jiang will serve as the official Mid Columbia ASHRAE Chapter photographer.

5. Chapter program planning
- Program meetings:
- September 12, 2006, 6-8:30 pm, 25th Anniversary Celebrating Mid Columbia Chapter History. The Columbia Voyager has been reserved and the deposit has been paid. Rich Evans has agreed to contact the charter members. Bing Liu, Lois Payne, and Rich Evans will work together to coordinate the event. Final payment is due August 11, 2006.
- A discussion followed regarding the October 10, 2006 program. We talked about doing the program on Energy/Resources sustainability design. Ron Jarnagin thought we might be able to get a person from ASHRAE’s DL list.
- Bing to talk to Steve and Lois about the possibility of a future commissioning program meeting.
- Other seminar/ workshop planning
- Added workshop on commissioning to ASHRAE budget – no details were discussed.
Next BOG meeting will be held at 6:00 PM on August 29, 2006 at MEIER Enterprises.
