Opportunity to “opt your child out” of the “Personal Safety” program: Fall 2016

St. Rose of Lima religious education classes will present a child abuse prevention program, “Personal Safety,” to our students. The creators of “Protecting God’s Children for Adults”™ developed “Personal Safety for Children”. This mandatory program is provided to us by the Diocese of Reno and is a part of our ongoing effort to help create and maintain a safe environment for children and to protect all children from abuse.

These special lessons: Lesson 1 (Touching Safety Rules) and Lesson 2 (Safe Friends, Safe Adults, and Safe Touches) are being offered to all students the week of 10/4/2015 during regular scheduled classes as follows:

Tuesday 10/11/16 4:30pm – 5:30p.m Grades 1 & 2, 5 & 6

Wednesday 10/12/16 4:30pm – 5:30pm Grades 1 & 2, 3 & 4

As a parent, you have the right to choose whether your student participates. We encourage parents to accompany their child to the class, so you will be aware of the nature of the program. If you have questions, call Director of Religious Education, at 850-2535 or .

If you determine that you DO NOT want your child to participate, please print this form, read and complete one of the Opt-out options at the bottom of this page. If your child is absent from the safety class, I still need this opt out form signed below stating you want the supplemental materials (option 1) or you do not want the supplemental materials (option 2). Return this form to us no later than 10/4/2015.
