Lab Report:Neat, organized, spelling correct, complete sentences, standard 1” boarders, font size12, no wild fonts that are distracting or unprofessional (no Times New Roman - Mr. H is a hater)
Abstract: A brief 3-5 complete sentence description of what the lab is about, impressions, and how did your results turn out. (A more detailed description will follow in the conclusion)
Purpose:Using 3-5 complete sentences key terms: describe what we are trying to learn in this lab.Discuss the physics if gel electrophoresis & electricity, the chemistry of pH & electrolysis of water & the unifying biological applications.
Team Members:First and last name, spelled correctly.
Materials: Things used in lab but not directly part of the reaction.Typically, but not limited to, objects that are used from one class period to the next or experiment to the next.
Reagents:Thing used in lab that are directly involved in the reaction. Typically, but not limited to, chemicals that are used up and consumed.
Protocol:
- Each day broken down What have you been doing in lab.
Questions:Paraphrase questions 1-13 from your lab sheet. Paraphrase means combine the question and answer into one sentence. We did 1-10 in class. You think about questions 11-13. They are hard and I will read your answers closely.
Conclusion:Reflect on results, use complete sentences, key terms. Besides the protocol, the conclusion is the second largest part to your report. Discuss the applicationsgel electrophoresis. Discuss electrolysis of water. How does, Voltage, Amperage andTemperature affect the system? Include: AC/DC,TBE, NaCl, Phenol RedpH)
