A template is provided for trainers to complete the necessary information and then a letter is sent to your debtor. This has had the desired effect on a number of occasions as it represents an official and neutral approach. Should the results not be so successful, we can suggest a debt-collection agency to act on your behalf.
Owner/Trainer Contract Templates – these are on the NZTA website and when utilised, can often help should a debt-collection agency be contracted.

Friendly advice – if you need help with social media or general business or legal advice, check in with NZTA and we will try and direct you to someone who can help. We have very good contacts for legal, immigration, business mentors….
The following has been provided by an owner which is good information for those wanting to get paid on time:
Make it easy for people to pay you
Talking to an owner recently they said how frustrating it was to get an invoice from a trainer that has no bank account on it. It meant they had to email, text or phone the trainer to get the details but when you’re doing a batch of payments you may not hear back from them quickly and it means on the 20thyou may not get paid promptly.
Make it easy for the people you want to pay you! In these days of online banking make sure you put your bank account on anything that you might send an owner that you want paid.
Another comment the owner made – “The second horse service provider I needed to pay had a very professional printed invoice but when I went to phone them to ask them for their bank account this wasn’t on the tax invoice either!” Guess it’s a good reminder to check that your invoices do have what people need – a bank account and sometimes a phone number so it’s easy if they need to query anything.
FASTTRACK INSURANCE -FREE HAZARD SIGNS FOR ENTRY GATES!!!
Members of the NZ Trainers’ Association have the opportunity to get a free entry sign that is compliant with Health & Safety legislation. It will advise those entering the horse training facility that it is a multiple hazard area and they must comply with all safety regulations. FastTrack Insurance will send trainers a FREE entry sign – all a trainer is required to do is request a no obligation quote for an insurance cover. A trainer simply needsto scan or take a snap of their current insurance policy and email it call0800 722 369to receive a quote.
