14 Feb 1819 / Frankfort? Ross Co. Ohio / Birth: Wm Wornstaff / Transcriptions of Wornstaff family bible
Mollie Patterson, “Re: Henry Wornstaff/Warnstaff's Will,” 2 Jan 2003, GenForum/Wornstaff Family Genealogy …. (http://genforum.genealogy.com/wornstaff/messages/10.html : accessed 12 Aug 2009), relays information from a Wornstaff family bible then at Bend, Oregon. The family notes appear to be those of William, Amanda and children, however, dob given for Charles William is 29 Nov 1866 (could that have been intended 1855?); in part, from Mollie’s transcription, below. Apparently in the bible are provenance notes reporting that Amanda gave the bible to her son Charles on Oct. 18, 1896 (suggesting Amanda died after that date, right?); Charles gave it to his wife on ______(separately, Charles died in 1903); the wife, Jane, gave it to their son, W. M. Wornstaff “in Remembrance of his father and mother…,” and it continues with the handoffs to its current owner

Louisa County, Iowa is a neighbor to 7 counties (5 Iowa Counties and 2 Illinois Counties).

The east boundary of the county is the Mississippi river.

Noteworthy: This place is definitely not isolated! Likely there was much mobility not only within the adjacent counties, but up and down parts of the Mississippi.

See also: http://www.louisacountyiowa.org/louisa/notices/lchistory.html . which includes, “Louisa County is bordered on the east by the Mississippi River, and the Cedar River joins the Iowa River at Columbus Junction. Lake Odessa, the Toolesboro Mounds, the swinging bridge and many county and state areas are just a few of the things to see when visiting Louisa County.”

This route took the new settlers past the junction of Lost Creek and the Willamette River. The City of Eugene, then called "Skinner's," was established in 1847. Skinner's, population 40, was incorporated and renamed Eugene City in 1862 (Stelfox, 1997)….”
