BOOTH / George / Private 27127. 1st Battalion, Kings Own Royal Lancaster Regiment, formerly 22703 Lincolnshire Regiment (9th Battalion specified on memorial). Killed in action 18th October 1916, aged 27 years. Husband of Florence Booth of Railway Hotel, Southrey, Lincs. Born Southrey and enlisted Lincoln, Lincs. Commemorated THIEPVAL MEMORIAL. Pier and Face 5D and 12B.
HEMINGWAY / George / Memorial has Trooper. 20th Hussars. Died 8th September 1916. Unable to trace CWGC/SDGW and no further information currently.
ELLIS / James Henry / Private 45832. 11th Battalion, Durham Light Infantry, formerly 10528 Northumberland Fusiliers (York and Lancaster Regiment specified on memorial). Died of wounds 7th October 1916. Born Bardney, Lincs, enlisted Sheffield, Yorks and resident Lincoln, Lincs. Mentioned on headstone of sister Elizabeth Ellis (d/o John Edward?/died 29th January 1913, aged 25 years) in Southrey churchyard. Commemorated GUARDS CEMETERY, Lesboeufs. IX.A.4.
AMOS / Harry / Memorial has Sapper. Royal Engineers. Died (Enteric) Salonica July 1917 and no trace CWGC/SDGW.
Possibly Harry Moreland Amos. Gunner 72958. 190th Heavy Battery, Royal Garrison Artillery. Died Balkans 30th June 1917. Son of Dorothy Ann Amos of ‘Ash Tree House’, Nuncargate, Notts. Born Nuncargate, Notts, enlisted Lincoln, Lincs and resident Nuncargate, Notts. Commemorated MIKRA BRITISH CEMETERY, Kalamaria. 38.
