Job Title: Project Officer
Type of Contract:Fixed term 1 year contractwith possibility of extension
Reporting to: Head of Campaigns and Engagement
Responsible for: no staffing responsibility.
Main Relationships: Managers, C & E Project team, colleagues across the organisation. Commercial Catering:-e.g. Restaurants, fast food outlets. Statutory Catering:Hospitals , Schools, local authorities.

Main Duties:
- To research and explore opportunities and approaches to increase the provision of food choices in catering providers with both commercial and statutory outlets.
- To suggest approaches to engage and increase provision of vegetarian food choices, and design projects to meet the objectives and agreed impacts of the project.
- To work on these specific projects for the organisation, ensuring they are effective, writing project plans and delivering on time and within budget and working with the delivery team to support them
- To work on the delivery team for some projects, delivering aspects of the project plan as directed by the lead, within agreed timescales and budgets
- To write project evaluation reports, assessing both impact and delivery and lessons learnt
- To manage some budgets, ensuring appropriate records are kept and targets are met
- To input creative ideas to project development on various projects as required
- To develop or assist with the development of effective projects with measurable impact, developing knowledge and skill on impact measurement
- To produce materials about these projects for a range of commercial and statutory audiences as required
- To engage members of the public, our members and supporters and others in projects as required
- To engage a range of partner organisations and professionals in projects, as appropriate
- To keep records and complete monitoring of your work as required
Additional Duties:
You are employed as “Project Officer” but it is expected that if necessary you will be willing to undertake other work of which you are capable and for which you have trained or will receive training from the Employer.
Main Responsibilities:
- To research and suggested opportunities and approaches for the delivery of this projects aims and objectives.
- To lead on these projects for the organisation
- To deliver these projects for the organisation
- To ensure all work is delivered to deadlines
- To ensure budgets being managed are monitored and met
- To support delivery staff on projects when acting as project lead
- To develop your own skills and knowledge so you are confident and capable in your own role
- To manage the health, safety and welfare of your direct reports and colleagues
- To minimize the environmental impact of the organisation and the work you are responsible for

Skills Knowledge
- Knowledge of Project Management theory and project management tools
- Able to engage commercial and statutory catering providers, general public, members and possible volunteer in this project.
- Ability to deliver (and enjoy delivering) multiple strands of this project at the same time.
- Proficient use of MS Office (Outlook, World, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Basic database skills – able to enter data and look up information
- Ability to manage a budget
- Ability to work flexibly and positively to support the work of others
- Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
- Good management skills with the ability to deliver on time
- Able to manage competing priorities calmly and efficiently
