Maryland PE Inventory
¨ Linda & Scott volunteered to attend MD Online IEP meeting to add assessments to drop down menu for MD IEP Online
¨ Linda & Scott collecting assessment tools used throughout the state to add
¨ Linda presented updated DRAFT of PE Inventory
¨ Inventory matched to State Standards
¨ Looking for more input so all counties can use and have consistency across state
¨ Balt County/Howard County – Grade Level outcomes matched to MD State Standards – Rubrics
¨ PG – working on similar rubrics
¨ Mike Mason – State will not provide a goal bank for any academic area – up to county to create; suggested that work already done is shared
¨ Linda/Mike will bring downloadable form of Baltimore County goal bank to Spring Briefing if possible
¨ Goal bank could be made available on wiki space

¨ Some jurisdictions offering APE for 3 year olds

¨ Do counties have a “committee for standardized assessment tool approval?”
¨ Some need to receive approval from committee in order to use standardized tests
Exit outcomes –
¨ Grades K – 7 completed?
¨ Rubric provided for each outcome – serves as a tool for assessing need for APE
¨ Mike will bring assessment rubrics/grade level outcomes already completed to spring briefing for download.
Data for APE/IEP/504/Athletics due to Mike by May 15

¨ Looking at # of students with PT goals vs. #students with APE goals (correlation?)

¨ Mike looking for volunteers to take new APE class (created by Linda) – earn 2 credits
¨ Need 23 people to “pilot” the class
¨ Should be up and running in Fall 2011 for teachers to take for MSDE credit
