On 1 April 2016 The Practice U Surgeries were awarded an interim contract to provide primary medical care services at The Mandeville Practice which will end on 31 March 2018, NHS Aylesbury Vale & NHS Chiltern Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs)have been working to find a provider to continue offering primary medical services to patients. We are pleased to confirm that following a successful procurement process Primary Care Management Solutions (PCMS) have been awarded the contract for the provision of primary medical services to patients at The Mandeville Practice. This contract will start on 1 April 2018.PCMS will now begin to work with The CCG and The Practice U Surgeries to develop a plan to ensure a smooth transition of services for patients.

Although there will be a change in practice organisation, the services patients currently receive from The Mandeville Practice will continue to be delivered by many of the existing practice staff (doctors, practice manager, nurses, receptionists and health care assistants) as they will be offered the opportunity to continue to work there.

You do not need to re-register or take any specific action; services will continue to be provided as usual from The Mandeville Practice and will be transferred seamlessly to PCMS on 1 April 2016.

Why are things changing at my GP Practice?

An interim contract was awarded to The Practice U Surgeries to run primary medical services at The Mandeville Practice from 1 April 2016; this interim contract ends on 31 March 2018. NHS Aylesbury Vale & NHS Chiltern Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) have delegated responsibility from NHS England to ensure that patients have access to GP services and undertook a procurement process to appoint a provider to provide primary medical services at The Mandeville Practice from 1 April 2018. This new provider is Primary Care Management Solutions (PCMS).

Who are the CCGs?

NHS England is the national body responsible for the commissioning of contracts for GP services throughout England. From 1 April 2016 this responsibility in the Aylesbury Vale area has been formally delegated to the CCGs.

In Buckinghamshire there are currently have two Clinical Commissioning Groups; NHS Aylesbury Vale CCG and NHS Chiltern CCG. Following a period of close working, thetwo Buckinghamshire CCGs intend to merge to form one organisation on 1 April 2018.

The CCGs will be working with The Practice U Surgeries and PCMS to ensure the patients of The Mandeville Practice continue to receive high quality GP services and there is a seamless transition to a new provider.

Who is Primary Care Management Solutions (PCMS)?

PCMS have specialised in primary care for almost 20 years. They are an established and experienced organisation who have the skills to ensure that primary care medical services at The Mandeville Practice are of a high standard and meet the needs of the local population.

PCMS were selected to run The Mandeville Practice using a process called a procurement process. This involves inviting providers of GP services to bid for a contract. PCMS met all the criteria set as part of the process including quality of service and value for money. Patient representatives were part of the assessment panel.

What is going to happen next?

PCMS will be starting work immediately with the existing doctors and staff to get ready to run The Mandeville Practice from 1 April 2018. The CCGs will be overseeing this process.

Although there will be some change in the running of the practice, the services patients currently receive from The Mandeville Practice will continue. Patients do not need to re-register or do anything differently; services will continue to be provided as usual and will be transferred seamlessly to the new provider in 1 April 2018.

The services patients currently receive from The Mandeville Practice will continue to be delivered at the surgery in Hannon Road, by many of the existing practice staff (doctors, practice manager, nurses, receptionists and health care assistants) as they will be offered the opportunity to continue to work there.

Mandeville Practice’s Patient Participation Group (PPG) will be kept informed of the transition process to ensure that patient views and feedback is taken into account going forward.

Do I need to do anything?

No you do not need to do anything. The Practice U Surgeries will continue to run The Mandeville Practice until 31 March 2018. As a registered patient you will then be automatically transferred to the registered list of PCMS. This does not affect your rights to transfer to another practice at any time.
