Places to Eat

We will have snacks for sale, but will not be providing meals. There are a few tables in front of the school if you wish to bring in food for your group.

These are the restaurants closest to the school.

Carthage

Turn right as you exit the school. Continue on Union Church Road for 10 – 15 minutes. At the stop light, turn left onto Highway 15/501, 24/27. You’ll see the Hardee’s in front of you, other restaurants are a little farther into Carthage.

Hardee’s – As you turn left at the stop light from Union Church Road, you’ll see the Hardee’s ahead, just past the stoplight at the intersection of 15/501 and 24/27.

Subway – Drive through the intersection of 15/501 and 24/27, staying on 24/27. Shopping center on the right after Hardee’s. Subway is in that center.

Pizza Hut – Follow 15/501 as it turns left at the second stoplight. Pizza Hut

is less than a mile on the right.

Pete’s Family Restaurant – Is right beside the Pizza Hut. They offer home-cooking and daily specials.

Flying Tiger – Stay on 24/27 through the 2nd stoplight. There will be a Food Lion shopping center on your right. Flying Tiger is on the right after Food Lion.

McDonald’s – Stay on 24/27 through the 2nd stoplight. McDonald’s is on your left just past the Food Lion.

Chuck Wagon – Stay on 24/27 through the 2nd stoplight and drive into Carthage. When you see Midstate Furniture on your right, Chuck Wagon will be on your left. It’s cheap and a locale favorite.

The Pik n Pig – Local BBQ place. Ask us for directions.Cash only.

Mr. B’s – Stay on 24/27 through the 2nd stoplight and drive into Carthage. Continue until you see the courthouse in the traffic circle. Just before you enter the traffic circle, you’ll see Mr. B’s on your right. They have subs and sandwiches. Friday only.Cash only.

Vass

Turn left as you exit the school and drive 5 to 6 miles down Union Church Road.

Miller’s Family Restaurant – When you get to the stoplight at the intersection of Union Church Road and old US 1, Miller’s will be on your right. They have sandwiches and burgers and usually a daily special.

Mama’s Kitchen – is on Union Church Road on your left, just before you get into Vass. (Where the speed limit changes.) Their specialty is fried seafood. Dinner only on Saturday.

Valenti’s – At the stoplight in Vass turn right onto old US 1. Continue to the next stoplight. Valenti’s will be on your left, just beyond the light. Dinner only on Saturday. Italian food.
