We shall have a consignment of ECG machines valued at US$ 250,000 CIF Jakarta, to be shipped by s.s. “VICTORIA” which will leave for Jakarta at the beginning of next month.
We wish to cover the consignment against W. A. from our warehouse at QingdaoPort to the port of Jakarta. These ECG machines are packed in wooden cases suitable for ocean transport. Will you please quote your term for this cover.

Dear Sirs,
We have received your letter of August 16, asking us to arrange All Risks cover for your consignment of frozen vegetables to Japan by s.s. “Mistu Maru”.
Our rate for providing the above cover is 3.5%, without any special discount. Because we usually do not give any special discount to the cover of frozen cargo in summer. If you cover your shipment in winter, there will be a 4% special discount. Please inform us if our rates are acceptable to you, and if so, we can prepare the policy in time.

Please arrange All Risks cover in the sum of US$ 118,000 CIF Yokohama for our shipment of 12 excavators to be shipped by S.S. Cosmic, which is destined for Yokohama within this month. The goods are marked “KD-CD-1-220”, now lying in our warehouse in Qingdao.
Please send the policy along with one certified copy not later than the 28 of this month, and charge the cost to the account of our branch office in Qingdao.

Further to our letter of July 15, we want to emphasize that the consignment must be covered against F.W.R.D, because both the loading port and the unloading port is now experiencing a rainy season. Re: Contract No. 44522
The 500 M/Ts of chemical fertilizer under the above contract arrived safely at QingdaoPort yesterday but was found to be short-delivered.
On checking the ship’s draft by the local Commodity Inspection Corporation and after due deductions made, a short weight of 60 M/Ts was determined and certified as against the invoice weight of 500 M/Ts after deducting 2% allowance and moisture. As the goods are covered against All Risks in which the Risk of Shortage is included. We, therefore, have to lodge a claim on you for the short-weight, details of which will be found in the attached Inspection Certificate No. 213/99. We also enclosed a copy of the survey report issued by the port agencies. Please examine them and make due compensation for our loss.

It is obvious that the short weight was due to incorrect packing in the factory. In this case, we will have to ask you to lodge a claim against the exporter.
