Job Title: Doorstep Club Sport Advisor / Grade/Salary Range: £150 per day
JOB PURPOSE
The Doorstep Sport Advisors will work alongside the Network Co-ordinator in the development of the StreetGames network and the support of Doorstep Sport Clubs in the region.
StreetGames has a reputation for delivering doorstep sport in deprived communities engaging hard to reach young people through sport in the right style, right place, right time and right price; to help them lead an active lifestyle and achieve their potential.
Doorstep Sport Advisers will support the diverse frontline organisations that form the StreetGames network in their local area by providing regular and relevant contact on behalf of StreetGames in the form of visits, group meetings and phone calls. Using their knowledge and experience to challenge practice, solve problems, identifying development and training needs and promoting StreetGames programmes to help projects towards a sustainable outcome
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1.  Support the StreetGames network by meeting new organisations and identifying how StreetGames can support that organisation;
2.  Provide development support to a range of organisations in the StreetGames network by providing direct support or linking to other staff or services. (see attached diagram)
3.  Provide communication and support to those organisations in the Doorstep Sports Club programme, in particular around the planning, funding and reporting elements of the programme
4.  Support local organisations with the identification of workforce development needs and liaising with the regional training coordinator.
5.  Lead and/or support the Network Coordinator to setup of local project cluster meetings and collaborations to offer festivals, inter-project visits and competitions
6.  Where appropriate and individual skills/experience allow, be part of the StreetGames Tutor team to deliver Training Academy workshops.
7.  Promote to all organisations the range and availability of StreetGames programmes and national events to enhance local provision.
8.  Support local organisations with the Monitoring & Evaluation process
9.  Develop partnerships and new opportunities that add to the StreetGames Network.
10.  Share learning and experiences with other DSAs in the region and help train and mentor new DSAs
11.  Attend regular training and briefings to ensure knowledge of StreetGames programmes are kept up to date
12.  Provide updates and report on DSA visits using the agreed reporting format
PERSON SPECIFICATION
StreetGames / Job Title: Doorstep Sport Advisor
Doorstep Sport Advisors are knowledgeable, enthusiastic and passionate about working with young people from the most deprived communities and providing sport and physical activity in a style that will engage now and have a lasting impact on those people lives. The DSA will use their time and inter-personal skills to get to know the people and projects in their area and using the Doorstep Sport model help improve the quality of youth sport towards a vibrant and varied offer.
Experience:
Essential
1.  Significant experience of Doorstep Sport, or delivery of sporting or youth activity in areas of high multiple deprivation;
2.  Significant experience in one or more of the following areas:
·  Running a successful Us Girls or female only project;
·  Experience of managing/delivering a successful young volunteer project;
·  Experience of delivering high quality CPD training to staff at local project or other local organisations;
·  Delivery of sports specific activity in doorstep sports local organisations with aspects of quality sports coaching;
·  Knowledge of the grants available for doorstep sport and experience in successful fundraising for doorstep sport
·  Successful organisation of neighbourhood or similar style sports events.
·  Management of a successful StreetGames project that has incorporated various StreetGames programmes;
·  Direct session delivery that is successful at recruiting and retaining participants in doorstep sport sessions;
·  Setting up and running inclusive or disability only sessions
·  Delivery of sessions that successfully engage young people from BME communities.
·  Full understanding of the Views data capture systems for doorstep sport to achieve effective monitoring and evaluation
·  Experience of setting up partnerships and contributing to networks to enhance doorstep sport
Desirable
1.  Experience of tutoring training courses to a range of audiences;
2.  Experience of providing training and support to multiple organisations;
3.  Knowledge of sport and young people in its relation to other policy agendas e.g. health, education and anti-social behaviour.

Essential
1.  Excellent person to person communication skills; presenting ideas and information, providing clear instructions, persuading and negotiating.
2.  Excellent written communication skills with the ability to support the production of written reports, training plans and support materials for local organisations.
3.  Excellent customer care skills with the ability to develop these in others.
4.  Excellent organisational skills, able to manage aspects of a regional programme
5.  Able to use own initiative and work without direct supervision
6.  Able to prioritise workload effectively and deal with competing and conflicting priorities.
7.  Strong teamwork skills with the ability to lead and play a role within a team, including motivating colleagues and team members.
8.  Able to use Word, Excel and Powerpoint and email effectively.
Desirable
1.  Able to interpret statistical information relating to project targets and include data and analysis in reports to programme manager.
2.  Able to communicate effectively using social media
