Lesson Plans
August (Welcome Back)
Week:
1. Review the rules
Enter quietly – use hand sanitizer every time you come in- sit quietly
Stop and listen to instructions (When I’m talking you’re not)
Only visit approved sites, no surfing the internet
Be respectful to teacher, classmates, and ALL the equipment
Do not print without permission.
No food or drink – especially gum
Leave your work station tidy- pick up trash, push in chair- put headphones away.
Use your assigned computer.
Do not click on popups, or download anything
Internet searches must stay in the realm of class assignments.
How to sit in chairs – how to raise hand if need to use bathroom- bathroom rules- keep hands to yourself – don’t touch others mouse or keyboard. Keep fingers out of mouth and nose.
Briefly go over parts of the computer for first and 2nd
Play Kahoot.com for quiz
2. Condensed review of the rules. Assign computers and practice typing first and last names for A.R. login.

September (Learning Letters)
Week:
1. K – Review parts of the computer with color worksheet.
(Play game: Simon Says to learn parts and learn names) Week 1
1st – Briefly talk about computer hardware. Have the kids watch cyber 5 with test. (If extra time practice mouse skills)
2nd – Review techniques for typing on power point/ have them demonstrate how to: sit straight in chair
Feet in front of chair
Line up “b” key with belly button
Use “Spider fingers”
Elbows tucked in- no chicken wings
Body does not touch the table
Have them open word and practice.
2. K- a. Review parts of the computer with color worksheet.
(Play game: Simon Says to learn parts and learn names) Week 2
1st – Mini Mouse skills, and work on double click talk about how not to be a crazy clickers.
2nd – Dance Mat Marathon- Have class go at own pace, when child finishes a level come and tell me to move on. Remind them of typing techniques (Dance mat wall of fame)
3. K- Learn mouse skills.
b. Talk about the mouse (wiggle, wiggle. Where is its home? Push left button. Use the mouse’s in the closet so all get a chance to practice). Make sure they can follow simple directions!
1st - ABC YA – Sight Word Bingo. (Continue to learn mouse/reading skills)
2nd –Dance Mat. Level 1 Stage 1 Remind them of typing techniques.
