1. Singing alone and with others, a varied repertoire of music

·  Uses voice or voice output device as they speak, sing, sign; use facial expressions expressively in music

·  Sings independently and with others

·  Sings expressive with appropriate dynamics

·  sings from memory a varied repoire of songs

2.Performing on instruments, alone, and with others, a varied repertoire of music

·  experiments with a variety of instruments

·  Performs rhythm and/or melody patterns maintaining a steady tempo

·  Performs a varied repertoire of music representing diverse genres and styles

·  Echoes short rhythmic and melodic patterns

·  Performs in groups and responds to the cues of a conductor

3. Improvising melodies, variations, and accompaniments

·  Improvises instrumental accompaniments to songs, recorded selections, stories, and poems

·  Improvises short songs and instrumental pieces, using a variety of sound sources, including traditional sounds,

·  nontraditional sounds available in the classroom; body sounds, and sounds produced by electronic means

·  Creates short pieces of music, using voices, instruments, and other sound sources

4. Responding to music

·  Sings, plays instruments, moves, or verbalizes to demonstrate awareness of the elements of music and change in their usage.

·  Identifies simple music forms when presented aurally

·  Identifies the sounds of a variety of instruments and voices.

·  Explore the use of music in their daily lives.

7. Evaluating music and music performances

·  Use their own vocabulary to explain their personal preferences for specific musical works and styles

·  Evaluate personal performances (from video or audio)
