JOB DESCRIPTION

TITLE:Cleaner

LOCATION:Faraday House, Eastbourne

HOURS: 10hours per week (to be worked over 5 days, Monday to Friday, before 8am or after 6pm)

Additional hours may be required by prior arrangement based upon the needs of the organisation

RESPONSIBLE TO:Faraday House Manager/Commercial and Business Development Director

SALARY: £7.50 - £8.50 per hour (based on experience)

BENEFITS:5 weeks paid holiday + bank holiday allowance, company pension scheme FTE (pro rata) – subject to 6 month probationary period

HEALTH & SAFETY:The role may include manual handling such as, but not limited to, moving chairs, tables and other equipment or working at height on occasion(after receiving proper and adequate training)

PURPOSE OF THE POST:

To provide a high quality cleaning service to ensure that the facilities are kept in a clean and orderly condition and maintained to an excellent standard using the prescribed methods and frequencies as set out in the cleaning maintenance programme.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Help to maintain a clean and smart building at all times
  2. General cleaning of areas within the facilities following the daily and weekly cleaning schedules and standards as appropriate to each day
  3. Specialised cleaning of areas such as the Kitchens, Meeting Rooms, Tenants Offices and Conference Facilities
  4. Deep cleaning carpets as directed
  5. Deep cleaning of all toilet facilities to include toilets, urinals, hand basins, taps and showers
  6. Deep cleaning walls and windows
  7. Keep cleaning and storage cupboards clean and organised
  8. Deep cleaning the dishwasher and washing machine as required
  9. Hand in to Line Manager any property found and note in the communication log
  10. Assist the facilities team with any additional cleaning required within the facilities
  11. Support the site manager with site facilities management
  12. Maintain cleaning and communication log book
  13. Report to the Line Manager any incident or accident
  14. To ensure safety in the workplace by compliance with all instructions relating to the use and storage of materials/equipment necessary for the performance of tasks, after receiving proper instructions and training
  15. Carry out heavy cleansing tasks and special projects upon request
  16. Clean up bodily fluids using the correct PPE and following HSE best practice
  17. Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations
  18. To carry out any other reasonable duties within the overall function of the job

Cleaning stock level maintenance/housekeeping

  1. Monitor and maintain cleaning materials against minimum stock levels and alert Line Manager when re-ordering required in order that supplies can be re-ordered and ensure adequate supplies are maintained.
  2. Notify Line Manager of any hazards/remedial repairs which are identified, such as leaking wash basins or light bulb replacements
