RESULTS for Round 3: 16th April 2011

U6 vs OLQP Falcons 1 -10

A rainy day didn't dampen our spirits. Although we might have lost to the Falcons, our players’ moodswere of high spirit. Victor kicked the firstand only goal. It was a great game by all. I was proud of all the players and their tremendous effort. Our player of thematch was Hannah. Hannah was giving 110% effort and we were very proud of all the players. It was a really great day and a big Thanks to all the parents for showingup and helping out.

Goal scorer – Victor Doueihi 1

U7 RED vs Newington Gunners R

Match abandoned due to the ground condition

U7 WHITE vs Wentworthville Uniting 3 - 10

Mustapha scored all our goals therefore was player of the week. Jasmine received the encouragement award.

Goal scorer – Mustapha Fahme 3

U8 vs OLOR/St Angelas Kellyville W 0 – 5

It was challenging playing our first wet game. Thanks to the players and parents who supported the team in these adverse conditions! This week we played a team more skilled than us. We defended vigorously but still conceded goals - 2 goals were player error and 3 we were outplayed but we have a group of boys who did not stop trying to their credit. Shaleen was in goals and saved several and showed some fine kicks to ease the pressure that Kellyville were trying to apply. Oliver, Moksh, and William made up the backlinepreventing shots on the goal. Albraaour Man of Matchforthis week, also defendedpushingthe ball out the sides with good strong kicks, enabling Yel, Mounir, John-Luke and Khalil to feed the ball forward to Christian. Ourcenters and forwards made several attempts on Kellyville’s goal. Ryan worked in defence and centers and we see his skills, directing the backline or pushing the ball to the forwards, improving weekly. Most improved player for this week is the team for sticking together and for having courage when the game's not going your way.

U9 RED vs McCredie White 3 – 0

Goal scorers – Nedim Fazlic 2, Qais Sungkar 1

U9 WHITE vs McCredie Red 0 – 3

We tried hard all day against a very good team but we couldn't break through. Down 1-0 at half time we pushed for the equalizer but it was not to be. Jackson was great in goals and Will and Arber tried all day. Kenny and Charlie chased and chased. A good effort against a quality team and we showed some good signs today. The player of the match was Jackson Hunt.

U10 vs Newington Gunners 4 – 0

Goal scorers - Chan Chan 2, Nedim Fazlic 2

U11 vs OLQP Falcons B 5 – 0

We played very well today with Alibaset leading the way with a dominant display in midfield. In the back Mohammed was set the task of keeping their striker quiet and in the second half Mohammed totally put him to sleep with a great display of tight marking. Well played everyone.

Goal scorers – Rusheel Raj 3, Salem Boustany 1, Alibaset Zafari 1

U12 vs North Rocks Black 9 – 0

Wet days (slog festival) are a day most Coaches dread, as from the moment you wake up, the phone calls or messages come in, “Is the game on”, the next messages are the kids that can’t make it, and you start to feel your team dropping like flies, one kid, then another kid, and in your head you’re working out the numbers and where kids are going to be on the field. And you know the kids that will be there, will be run until they have nothing left, as they have dedication for there team, for their sport. We lined up against North Rocks black today, they only had 7 players show up so the odds where in our favour as we had a full team, but no subs. So I put this down as a training match, as I wanted my team to learn to play together better, to pass the ball more, and to learn/show a better understanding of positioning. For most of the game we again this week stayed in the other team’s half, we used a lot more of the field this time, with the ball moving left and right. We also had two more chances at the penalty, but we won’t talk about those attempts. We scored some goals in the first half, but the main attack came in the second half.
North Rocks had a few breaks and two chances that I still don’t know how they didn’t score. We are getting much better as a team, but we still have a lot to work on. The man of the match is Emir for a great effort all day and an excellent goal from the 18 yard box. The most improved player for today is Wesley, a great effort in defence in stopping a few attacking runs before they got over half way and all round good effort.

Goal scorers – John Kazzi 3, Tawab Taufiq 3, Emir Biber 1, Kane Carder 1, Housaini Taha 1

U13 vs Kellyville Kolts 1 – 1

After having a bye in the first round, the team were eager to play, and they knew they were in a game straight away. Kellyville camped in our half for the first 5-10 minutes, keeping all of the backs very busy. We finally settled into the game and started passing the ball, but Kellyville were not going to make it easy. They were keeping the pressure on our backs but we were starting to find some weaknesses in their defence. We had a few breaks down the left sidewith Emily taking the most of one opportunity to cross the ball from out wide to score a much deserved goal. The second half was an end to end affair with Cameron and Jahid causing theirdefence problems, whileKellyville weremixing it up with some long range shots. Unfortunately, one of their shots skidded on the wet surface, allowing them to equalise. A penalty gave usa chance to take the lead with a few minutes to go, however their keeper pulled off a good save to deny us the victory.James earned player of the matchfor his non-stop effort through the game, being first to the ball, tackling hard and his great clearances. John and Emily played out of their skins and deserve a special mention.

Goal scorer – Emily Pereira 1

RC 1 RESERVES vs Kings Old Boys A 1 – 0

Strong performance by all today but we need to convert more chances.

Goal scorer – Luqman Sungkar 1

RC 1 FIRSTS vs Kings Old Boys A 5 – 1

We played a terrible first half but we got better in the second half because we defended better and we played as a team. A great effort by all.

Goal scorers – Pece Kotevski 3, Cuong Lo 1, Mohammed Rahimi 1
