EHS Morning Announcements: 09/16/16
Football:
The Varsity Football team will be traveling to Medina on Friday for a 7:00 game. If you’re planning on traveling to Medina for the game, presale tickets for students can be purchased today in the Athletic Office for $4.00. Adult tickets must be purchased at Medina’s gate. Please stop by the Athletic Office to purchase your ticket or if you have any questions. Go Pioneers!!!
Freshman Football:
Freshman football team beat Medina yesterday by a score of 18-12 on a last minute touchdown. The team is currently 2-2 on the season. Great job Pioneers!
Volleyball:
The Elyria Varsity Volleyball team defeated Mentor in five games yesterday. Leading scorers for the Pioneers: Kills: Jessie Lee 29, Alyssa White and Haley Schultz had 9 kills. Digs: Madison Cruzado 42, Setting: Rachel Holliday 126 out of 130 with 51 assists. Blocks: Alyssa White 1 solo, 2 assist blocks, Serving: Madison Cruzado 32 out of 36 with 5 aces. Overall record: 10-1
Anime Club:
Anime Club will be screening some Dragonball Z today in room 125. Wendt is currently searching for senzu beans to go with the Corn of Saint Jenny.
Current NHS members:
Are you in need of hours? Current opportunities are available at Windsor, the Apple Fest, the Elyria Public Library Book Sale, and Prospect. Sign up in 204W ASAP.
Debate Club:
The next Debate Club Meeting will be this Monday, September 19th at 2:45pm in Room 138. We will be tossing out ideas and thoughts relating to school structure. Please see Mrs. Farley with any questions. Hope that you can make it....
GEM Club:
There is a GEM meeting in room 207W after school on September 21. All are welcome.
Juniors and Seniors!
College visits for next week are University of Cincinnati on Monday and Tiffin University on Tuesday. Sign up in the main office to receive a pass.
Financial Aid Night:
A Financial Aid Night will be held onSeptember 26, 2016 at 7:00pm in the Elyria High School Cafeteria. Information will be presented by College Now Greater Cleveland. Please join us to learn all about financial aid, FAFSA, scholarships, Work Study, grants, and student loans. Hope to see you there!
ACT and FAFSA Sign-Ups:
College Now representatives Mrs. Howard and Mrs. Anderle will be presenting sign-up days for the ACT and FAFSA. ACT sign-up will take place on Sept. 16th from 8am to 3:30pm in the media center. There are limited Free ACT Waivers for those students who receive free or reduced lunch. If you need to pay, please bring credit card for payment on that date.
FAFSA sign-ups will take place on Monday, October 3rd from 8am to 6:30pm for students and/or parents in the Media Center. Please stop by the College Now office for the list of items needed for the FAFSA.
Election:
This presidential election is going to be historic! Be a part of it! IF YOU WILL BE 18 YEARS OLD BY NOVEMBER 8th, COME TO ROOM 206W to register to vote. Don't let other people make the voting choice for you! Deadline to register is OCTOBER 11th. Mrs. Runion will take registrations until FRIDAY, October 7th.
