CHALLOW & CHILDREY CRICKET CLUB
Youth Registration for 2017 season
Registration night will take place on Friday 21st April between 5.30pm – 7.30pm. If you cannot make this date then don't worry as we will be accepting postal registration forms to the following address:-
Challow & Childrey Cricket Club
Vicarage Hill
East Challow
Wantage
Oxfordshire
OX12 9RR
We would like to encourage the use of postal registration as this spreads out the whole registrations process for us over a period of weeks rather than just over one. Please note: we cannot accept cash via postal registrations; we can only accept cheques via this method. Should you wish to pay cash, you will need to attend the Registration Evening in person.
Please ensure that you have completed a separate Youth Registration Form for each child along with the appropriate fee. Cheques should be made payable to “CCCC”. Please also note that for some age groups we may have to limit numbers in order to meet coaching ratios.
We will notify all postal registrations by email to confirm that we have received their registration form, payment and that their child has been registered. Please ensure your email address is clear on the registration form.

Girl’s Only Training
This year we are looking to introduce a Girl’s Only cricket session on Monday evenings, which will be aimed at girls who have either already been part of the Under 9 training and those who may not have played before. These sessions will be fun, engaging and aimed at increasing confidence. We hope to also play some matches against other clubs (although there isn’t much Girl’s only cricket in our area!). The sessions will be softball based and girls in school years 5-8 are encouraged to come along and bring their friends. Girls in this group are also welcome to join the relevant Friday night training for their age group (although that will be more hardball based). These sessions will commence on Monday 8th May
Safeguarding of Children
As an ECB ‘Clubmark’ accredited organisation we are committed to ensuring that all children have a safe, positive and fun experience whilst they are with us. We take seriously our responsibilities to ensure the safety and welfare of children within the game. If you have any questions regarding the safeguarding of children please do not hesitate to contact the Club Welfare Officer (Mark Ormrod) on 07443 527686 or via email
Code of Conduct
As part of our commitment to ensure that we operate a fun and safe environment for all can we please remind parents/carers of the following:
· Children aged school years 1 to 6 MUST have a parent or responsible adult remain at the club for the duration of the training session. DO NOT drop off and leave your child.
· Children aged school years 1 to 6 are to wear cricket whites for training sessions (or at least a white t-shirt with light trousers/shorts) so coaches can differentiate between those taking part in training sessions and those who are not.
· When your child is not participating in their training session they must be supervised at all times and not play on the outfield when other training sessions are taking place. This extends to children who are coming to watch others train and to the older age groups who may be arriving early for their session.
· Children should not be allowed to play near the BBQ and the wicket covers
· Children should not use the practice nets after 4:30pm on a Friday evening unless it is as part of their supervised training session.
· Club kit should only be used by coaches for their training session and not removed from the box without prior permission.
Clearly the last thing we want to do is to stop people from having fun but we need to maintain our high safety standards and ensure those training and visiting can enjoy themselves in a safe environment.

Fundraising
The 100 Club provides additional money to support all levels of cricketing activities and general club maintenance. We believe that our youth membership fees represent good value for money (£3.46 per training session) so we would be delighted if you could consider joining the 100 Club. For £12 per year you will be entered into a monthly draw for two cash prizes. The more members the bigger the prize! Forms available on the website or by contacting Phil Cox ()
Celebration Evening
A provisional date of Friday 30th June has been set aside for the Youth Celebration Evening this will allow for flexibility in the event of poor weather. This evening will see the celebration of a terrific season of youth cricket, along with the presentation of medals & trophies. We will keep you updated on the details of this evening nearer the time.
