Maps / Include good topo maps which cover all areas you will be going / Technically, everyone should have a set
Patrol Flag
Tent / Bring as few as possible, and still fit everyone. Tents add a lot of weight! / Remember rain fly, ground cloth, and stakes!
Tarp & ropes / Big enough for entire patrol to fit under and cook. / Bring enough ropes to tie the tarp up
Stove / 1 for every 3 to 4 people
Fuel / Depends on fuel type, menu, temp and altitude / Make sure fuel bottle works with the stove that is being used.
Cooking Pots, Pans / Depends on menu
Water Filter/Purifier / 1 for every 3 to 4 people / Have purification tablets in case it breaks
Full First Aid Kit / 1 per patrol / Each person should have a smaller personal kit as well

Notes:

·  Patrols should generally not exceed 6 scouts. Scouts should stay with their assigned patrols. For example, if 10 are going from one patrol, the patrol may split into 2 groups.

·  Someone else can be the trip patrol leader if the current patrol leader is not going.

·  Trip Leader responsible for checking condition of trail, permit requirements, group size restrictions, weather forecasts, trailhead problems, etc. (the Trip Leader may be from a different patrol).

·  Assignments above indicate who should bring the item, not necessarily who must carry it! Patrol gear can be moved to other packs at Mr. Brooten's house to even out the load.

·  Those who don't attend are still responsible for paying for the food that was bought for them.
