Board Roles and Responsibilities

Chairperson:

  • Preside over meetings of the CACC and set the meeting agenda
  • Appoint Chairpersons of the Membership, Education, Membership Meetings, Public Relations and Nominating Committees (including any "ad hoc" committees)
  • Set the schedule of Board meetings
  • Assure that the organization's by-laws are up to date and contain policies which are in keeping with the best interests of the membership
  • Provide general information and communications about the CACC to WorldatWork as appropriate, including Group Partnership Network (GPN) information

Vice-Chairperson:

  • Serve in the absence of the Chairperson
  • Learn the responsibilities of the Chairperson
  • Succeed to the position of Chairperson
  • Perform assignments delegated to him/her
  • Oversee through the committee chairpersons, the Education and Membership Meeting Committees

Past Chair/Community Outreach Director:

  • Focus is to identify and organize community outreach activities for CACC. Ex. Dress for Success, food drives, etc.

Treasurer:

  • Assure that the duties of the position are performed in accordance with the CACC Treasury Policy -- which is incorporated into these by-laws by reference. Certain of these duties may be delegated to a third party administrator as determined by the Board, with the continuing oversight of the Treasurer
  • Account for all financial transactions of the organization, and reconcile the organization's account balance with the organization's bank statement(s)
  • Report to the Board regularly and to the membership as required, as to the financial status of the organization
  • Insure that appropriate approval is obtained for the payment of the legitimate expenses of the organization (as provided for in the CACC Treasury Policy)
  • Invoice members for the annual membership dues
  • Follow up on delinquent accounts

Secretary:

  • Board meeting minutes

Education Director:

  • Propose the annual schedule of educational courses and seminars
  • Make all necessary arrangements for courses and seminars (e.g., procure speakers, determine dates, locations, times, etc.)
  • Work with the Treasurer, Secretary, and Public Relations Committee to coordinate events
  • Determine the cost of educational courses and seminars
  • Serve as the liaison with WorldatWork regarding the scheduling of educational courses and seminars, and provide WorldatWork with any required information or communications about the courses and seminars
  • Propose, plan, and facilitate the educational courses for the year

Membership Director:

  • Recruit, orient and support members
  • Administer member survey
  • Report membership information to WorldatWork

Member Meetings:

  • Plan, organize and facilitate meetings and socials
  • Identify speakers
  • Four (4) meetings annually
  • One to Two (1-2) socials

Mentoring Program:

  • Lead mentoring program for CACC
  • Connect veteran professionals with those desiring a mentor in the area of compensation, benefits, and total rewards

Public Relations:

  • Maintain member communications: quarterly newsletter, website, Linked-In, etc.
  • Provide information to local media, professional publications, etc.
