The Colchester B.A.P. is a partnership of 16 schools in the Colchester area. These schools work together to improve outcomes for students, through sharing good practice and devising effective interventions in order to improve students’ behaviour for learning and attendance at school.

Partnership Support Worker

Overall purpose of the job

  • To provide Partnership-specific and goal-related interventions in schools, working with individuals and groups of students.
  • To design and implement new and existing projects which are tailored to the needs of the partnership schools and the targets of the B.A.P.
  • To assist, where necessary, with thework of the Partnership Development Manager, The Chairperson and the members of the Partnership.

Partnership Development Manager

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To liaise with all partner schools ensuring that they gain participation and benefit from the opportunities offered by the partnership
  • To develop and review the impact of interventions, projects and any other work undertaken
  • To work directly with students, as individuals or groups.
  • To attend to administrative tasks as necessary
  • To implement strategies and projects relating to the specific needs of the Partnership, as they evolve
  • Attend partner schools and agencies where support work of the Partnership is able to contribute to positive outcomes for schools and individuals
  • To assist the work of the Partnership Development Manger in commissioning projects and services from external providers.
  • To assist to the Partnership Development Manager and carry out tasks as directed
  • To respond,as and when is necessary,to the individual needs of partner schools by offering support in order to improve outcomes for students in the areas of behaviour and attendance
  • To attend full B.A.P meetings and report on their work and its impact

Person Specification

Skills and experience required

  • A general knowledge of school systems for monitoring behaviour and attendance
  • A proven track record which demonstrates anexcellent ability to relate to and with work with young people to improve outcomes for them
  • To have a pro-active and flexible approach to the demands of the role
  • To have the ability to relate to a wide range of stakeholders
  • To have excellent project management skills, managing time effectively in the short, medium and long term
  • To have a proven track record in developing and running effective interventions in a school based setting, tailored to the needs of individuals or groups of students who have barriers to achieving good attendance or behaviour at school
  • To have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • To be enthusiastic about working with young people and have excellent presentation skills and the ability to create good working relationships with students and stakeholders
  • The ability to use their initiative and respond to the demands of the Partnership with expedience, diligence and care
