Hebrews 13:5-6
5 Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”
6 So we may boldly say:
“The Lord is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?”
Part One: No Fear
- Psalm 23: Yea though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death; I will fear no evil: for thou art with me.
- The basis of “no fear” is because “thou are with me”.
- Fear cannot abide in the presence of God.
Part Two: The Fear Slaying Presence of Almighty God
- Hebrews 13:5-6
- 5 Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”
- Accumulations of fear from bomb shelters to stock piles.
- Never not you
- The Greek has a beautiful feel to this reality.
- αὐτὸς γὰρ εἴρηκεν, Οὐ μήσε ἀνῶ,
He Himself indeed has said never, not you will I leave
οὐδ’ οὐ μήσεἐγκαταλίπω.
Nor never, not you will I leave
- “He Himself indeed has said, never, not you will I leave nor never not you will I forsake
- Twice NEVER, NOT YOU!
- 6 So we may boldly say:
“The Lord is my helper;
I will not fear.
What can man do to me?”
- Boldly, confidently, exercising courage – DESTROYING FEAR
- The Lord is my helper, I will not fear.
- Helper in Verse 6- βοηθός (Boethos)meansreal help on time. “a helper bringing the right aid in time, i.e. to meet an urgent, real need.”[2] Pictures God RUNNING to your aid as you call out to Him.
- “I will not fear” Challenging Your Fear - Tower climb story.

- Isaiah 41:10 Fear not; for I am with thee. Be not dismayed for I am thy God. I will strengthen thee. I will help thee. I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.
