The University’s Asset Management Policy requires that you understand “the impact of corporate decisions on existing and new assets is understood at the planning stage, taking into account risks and costs incurred throughout the life cycle of an asset”.

If this grant is successful, will it require physical infrastructure changes and support such as additional space, power requirements, alarms on fridges or located in a specific location? Have you considered the Life Cycle Costs as outlined below?

·  Acquisition costs

·  Installation & Fit out costs

·  Maintenance costs

·  Operation costs

·  Technical Support costs

·  Replacement Costs -Disposal Costs

If any of these issues apply, please complete the ‘Asset Management Implications Form’ to discuss with your Head of School: http://www.newcastle.edu.au/research-and-innovation/resources/grants/apply

Under the ARC LIEF scheme the ARC will fund the purchase, upgrade, transportation of, installation of, maintenance of and/or management of access to the research infrastructure, including costs such as import taxes (and other similar expenses) for purchasing equipment, and salaries, including 30 percent on-costs, directly associated with these activities. Note that the ARC will not fund maintenance and/or operational costs of the proposed research infrastructure after the first year of the Project.

9(b). All costs associated with the installation must be included in the total cost of the equipment/infrastructure. In the table below, provide details of arrangements (space, maintenance etc.) made to install equipment and/or facilities at UON. Attach correspondence with Facilities Management, IT Services, Head of School and/or PVC agreeing to these arrangements (if applicable).
