A RESOLUTION adjourning the House of Representatives in honor and loving memory of William Rees Clarke, Sr.

WHEREAS, William Rees Clarke, Sr., was a son of this Commonwealth, having been born in May's Lick on September 9, 1923, the cherished son of the late William D. and Lucille Rees Clarke; and

WHEREAS, William Rees Clarke, Sr., was a resident of the Mel-O-Ree Farm in May's Lick. The past president and chairman of the board of the Security Bank and Trust in Maysville, he was a faithful member of First Christian Church; and

WHEREAS, William Rees Clarke, Sr., was a proud United States Army veteran who served in World War II; and

WHEREAS, William Rees Clarke, Sr., departed this earthly life on March 15, 2014, leaving his family, friends, and an entire community in solemn mourning; and

WHEREAS, William Rees Clarke, Sr., was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Charles Allen Clarke. He is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Jean Meloy Clarke; his sons, William R. Clarke, Jr., and his wife, Vicki, and Donald Meloy Clarke; his grandchildren, Cameron Nurick and her husband, Brian, and William Rees Clarke III; and his great-grandsons, Parker Clarke Nurick and Chase William Nurick;

NOW, THEREFORE,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

Section 1. The members of the House of Representatives hereby express their most profound and sincere condolences upon the passing of William Rees Clarke, Sr., and extend their heartfelt sympathy to his family in this time of loss.

Section 2. When the House of Representatives adjourns this day, it does so in honor and loving memory of William Rees Clarke, Sr.

Section 3. The Clerk of the House of Representatives is directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to Representative Mike Denham for delivery.
