Campus Tour Travel Bursary

Terms and Conditions

  • Travel costs will be reimbursed to the participating visitor if the visit is pre-arranged.
  • The Travel cost reimbursement applies to campus tours only and will not be reimbursed for attending Applicant Events, College Counsellor Events, Open Days or Evenings
  • The bursary is only available to UK based residents
  • Photographic identification to beshown on arrival before costs will be reimbursed.
  • It can take a number of weeks for the bank transfer to be processed. A member of the team will be able to advise re the next bank payment run that will be made by the University.
  • Travel Bursaryforms will only be processed if fully completed and signed by both campus visitor and Head of Recruitment.
  • Only one travel bursary will be paid to an applicant per application year.
  • The travel bursary is only available to contribute towards the costs of the applicant’s journey to the University. Costs of anyone accompanying the applicant will not be reimbursed.
  • Travel costs are calculated on distance travelled. The University will determine the miles travelled. Please see table for indication of distance by UK location.
  • The University will not reimburse travel costs for those travelling less than 50 miles or over 450 miles.
  • The maximum bursary will be £175.
  • Thebursaryscheme is intended to cover the cost of travel to the University only.
  • Tours will depart promptly.
  • Please let us know in writing (email) you are unable to make your registered booking.Please note that we cannot guarantee tours willinclude a tour of Caledonian Court accommodationduring term time as standard or a tour of teaching facilities. Tours may include some steps please contact us in advance if you require extra support with access
  • Once we've received your booking, we'll send you further details by email. If your chosen dates are fully booked please keep checking these dates as places may become available due to cancellations.
  • We warmly welcome visitors with disabilities and other special requirements. Please indicate any additional assistance that you may require or contact us so that we can make arrangements for your visit.
  • Travel bursaries will be paid by BACS into the applicant’s nominated bank account.
  • The distance claimed should be the quickest journey between your home postcode and the University postcode (G4 0BA), according to Google maps.
  • Complaints about the operational processes of the Campus Tour Cashback Incentive should be dealt with under the Glasgow Caledonian University complaints procedure.
  • Where we canwe will make you an offer to study with us within 48 hours. Offers are not guaranteed.
  • Reimbursement amounts are agreed as:

50 to 100 miles - £25

101 – 150 miles - £50

151 – 250 miles - £75

251 – 350 miles - £100

351 – 400 miles - £150

401 – 450 miles - £175
