Russian English in the Eye of the Beholder

This plenary session is devoted to the issue of typical errors and mistakes made by Russian students of when they speak and write in English. The teachers from Eden School of English from Dublin, Ireland who regularly teach students from Russia analyze some common errors and mistakes and give comments on them. Four videos sent from the school will provide the audience with the ideas to think about and take into consideration. The video session will be followed by discussion.

PANEL DISCUSSIONS

Panel Discussion 1

Wavelet-Based Images Denoising

Wavelet-analysis has become a powerful tool for denoising images. It represents a new way to achieve better noise reduction and increased contrast. We experimentally demonstrate the abilities of discrete wavelet transform with Daubechies as basis functions for improving the quality of noisy images.

Affine Systems of Walsh Type

In this paper, we introduce a notion of an affine system of Walsh type. We consider biorthogonal series:

where belongs to space , ( is a Hilbert space), which we represented by:

where , ( is Walsh function), and , are two operators which are defined. Some properties are given with proofs for this representation, as well as general forms for this space with their proofs by using induction rule. Also n≥0 is the affine system of Walsh type of function . We introduce this function by using Walsh function. Finally, are the Fourier coefficients of function in the Walsh system. We are proving that these coefficients form biorthogonal conjugate to the system n≥0 of function.

A Direct Russian-Arabic Machine Translation System

In this study we present Russian to Arabic approach for translating a well-structured Russian sentence into a well-structured Arabic one. We used the transfer model which consists of two stages. They are the analysis of the source language (Russian) and the translation to the target language (Arabic). These two different stages interact with each other in an integrated system despite different mechanisms and tools used in each one. The domain area is divided into automated control systems from Al-Mawrid, Russian-Arabic dictionary and a set of 200 well-structured Russian sentences from many textbooks. Experimental results have shown that the latter give better results than in the case of automated control systems.

Wavelet Analysis of Complex Signals

Wavelets are widely used in many areas of modern science including time-frequency analysis of non-stationary data. They provide a possibility to analyze instantaneous frequencies and amplitudes of rhythmic contributions in complex processes. In this paper we use wavelets to study dynamics of living systems.

Veronika Barabash

Application of the CoVaR Risk Measure to the Analysis of Russian Financial System

The article contains the description of CoVaR, a qualitatively new measure of risks, and provides options for its application using the example of three Russian companies. The analysis proves the applicability of CoVaR to Russian market conditions.

Structure and Vibrational Spectra of Tautomer of Indole in Aqueous Solution

Structure and vibrational spectra of tautomer indole in aqueous solution have been calculated by the method of effective accounting of intermolecular interactions (model SCRF) in the approximation of B3LYP/6-311++G (d, p). The influence of the tautomerism on the structure of indole is considered. Interpretation of the IR vibrational spectra is performed.

Characterization of Nano-Thin Aluminum Nitride Films for FBAR Applications.

Nano-thin films of AlN were deposited on silicon and Er:YAG substrates by RF magnetron sputtering. Their piezoelectric and nanostructural properties have been investigated using different techniques. Research and application results and opportunities are presented in this paper.

Modifications of Muscles’ Size-Mass Characteristics during Optical Clearing

The usage of biocompatible immersion solutions, such as 40% glucose solution, induces the optical clearing of biological tissues, including muscle tissue. Diffusion of solution molecules into biological tissues the optical clearing of biological tissues is observed due to displacement of water from biological tissue and immersion solutions, which leads to changing of the optical (scattering) properties of biological tissue.

In this paper we have estimated time dependence of in vitro muscle tissue volume is estimated. The method is based on the quantitative measurement of the mass and the square of the sample of biological tissue under the influence of biocompatible immersion solution.

Ekaterina Lomovtseva

Using Biquaternion Theory of Kinematics Control for Solving Inverse Kinematics Problem of Manipulators by the Example of Stanford Robot Arm

On the example of Stanford robot arm a new method of solving the inverse kinematics problem by using biquaternion theory of kinematics control is investigated. The given example of numeric solution shows efficacy of applying the theory for solving the inverse kinematics problem of manipulators.

Liyana Menishova

Biomechanical Analysis of the Human Colon

In this paper we studied anatomy of the human colon. We investigated the mechanical properties of the colonic tissue. The three-dimensional anatomical model of the large bowel was constructed. We conducted the numerical analysis, which simulated the peristaltic motions of the colon.

Olga Myltcina

On the Solution to a Problem of Uncoupled Thermoelasticity for Plate under Influence of Quick Change for Coordinate of Thermal and Force Factors on the Boundary

The rectangular plate with thermalisolate facial surfaces on the base of Love model is considered. The plate boundary is presented under influence of temperature and bending stress couples. Solutions for thermal conductivity and thermoelasticity are obtained by the method of the sum single trigonometric series with variable coefficients and polynomial for appreciation of boundary conditions thermal and thermoelastic problems. Thermal field and function of bending have analytical solutions. The solutions are analyzed, and 3D figures for thermal field and function of bending are constructed.

Nadezhda Sergeeva

The Dispersion Equations for Thin Viscoelastic Cylinder

The paper deals with the infinite hollow circular cylinder. The material of cylinder is described by the Rabotnov's model. Free vibrations are studied. The properties of modes which change according to harmonic law are investigated. The dispersion equations are derived for the case of the axisymmetric problem.

Measurement of Refractive Index ofIntralipid-Water Solutions Using OCT

Dynamic and spatially limited OCT measurements of the refractive index and reflectivity of biological tissues and bloodare very important formonitoringphysiological changes in living tissues. OCT enables simple and direct measurements of the refractive index in vitro and in vivo. The experimental studies of refractive index ofIntralipid-water solutions using OCThave been carried out.

Synthesis of 10-Phenyltetrazol [1.5-b]-Cyclohepta [d] -4,10 - Dihydropyrimidine Acylation and Maleic Anhydride

One of the primary tasks of pharmaceutical chemistry is the synthesis of biologically active compounds with low toxicity. We get heterocyclic system.

According to available data, substituted tetrazoles (heterocyclic system) found substances exhibiting antiallergic, antiasthma, antimicrobial, antiviral, anti-tuberculosis, anti-fungal and anti-hypertensive activity.

Micellar Cloud Point Extraction in the System: Pb (II) - Dithizone - ОP-10

The data presented are about the application of the methodology based on the cloud point extraction for selective determination of lead in liquids. For this aim dithizone - ethoxylated alkyl phenol (OP-10) - NaOH extraction system is proposed. It allows lead to concentrate in the micellar phase of OP-10 without additional heating.
