Project Description
[Type at least 4 sentences describing the project here]
Example:
We were divided into teams and given only newspaper and masking tape. Without talking, we had to race to build a self-supporting structure (entryway). It had to be high enough for the tallest person to walk through without ducking. We could not tape to the floor or anything but the paper.
Concepts (science concepts you did or could have used on this project)
[Type at least two sentence here describing Concept #1 and how it could be useful in this activity]
[Type at least two sentence here describing Concept #2 and how it could be useful in this activity]
Examples:
Concept #1 – The taller a structure is the more stable its base must be. We realized that we needed to add legs to make our tower wider at the bottom or it would fall over.
Concept #2 – A cylinder is a stronger shape than a flat beam. If the paper was folded flat, it would bend easily. Tubes made much stronger beams.
Real world application
[Chose One Concept above and write at least 3 sentences describing how it applies to the Real World here]
Example:
Real towers like those found in New York often get smaller towards the top. The base or foundation is often built deep into the ground to provide stability. In the real world, these towers must support far more weight and forces such as earthquakes and wind.
reflections
[Describe in at least one sentence something you found difficult or challenging about this activity]
Example:
It was difficult to communicate our plan for the towers without talking.
[Describe in at least one sentence something you found most enjoyable about this activity]
Example:
It was fun to race against the other teams. I was surprised we could do it with only newspaper & tape!
