Position Summary:

Tampa Preparatory School is seeking a Director of the Annual Fund with a high level of energy, creativeness, and the ability to collaborate with multiple departments. The Director of the Annual Fund reports to the Director of Development and is responsible for following the lead of the Director in theirefforts in the areas of fundraising and special events. The Director of the Annual Fund plays an active role in ensuring the success of all development functions to include identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of annual fund donors, capital and endowment fund raising, auction, major gifts, plannedgiving, special events, and new initiatives. The position requires the confidence to ask for gifts, exceptional organizational and social skills, working with volunteers, and the ability to plan and execute events.

Major responsibilities:

  • Develops strong relationships with donors, volunteers, faculty, and staff.
  • Develops and manages programs designed to attract maximum gift support to the School.
  • Implements fundraising plans/strategies to increase constituent support of and involvement in the school.
  • Ability to research prospects and develop solicitation action plans.
  • Coordinates all orders, thank you letters, and installation for the ongoing Paver Campaign.
  • Assists with all school development events, when needed.
  • Fosters and promotes the mission of the School to all of its constituents including parents, alumni, students, grandparents, business community, faculty and staff.
  • Work collaboratively with members of the Development Office to coordinate appropriate Annual Fund solicitations, including strategy and stewardship of donors and prospects.
  • Work with Communications Office to create appeals and marketing materials, as well as to maintain annual giving section on the School’s website.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field.
  • Minimumtwo years development experience, including annual campaigns.
  • Knowledge of fund development principles and public relations.
  • Strong organizational, administration, telephone and interpersonal communication skills, detail and “big picture” oriented.
  • Professional demeanor, flexible and able to respond to multiple demands.
  • Must be flexible regarding work schedule.
