The Medicines and Nutrition Centre (MNC) in UNICEF Supply Division, Copenhagen is seeking a dedicated:

Contracts Officer, P-2

(Temporary Appointment for 6 months)

PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT:

Under the general supervision of the Contracts Manager (HIV/AIDS & Malaria), procures pharmaceuticals in accordance with the UNICEF Rules and Regulations, including contract management and implementation. Monitors and reports on supplier performance, global market development, and mid-to-long term forecasting. Key end results sought include:

  • Communication strategy and service level to support Procurement Services’ partners for pharmaceuticals’ transactions.
  • A value for money study - in terms of price optimization and cost effectiveness of ARV procurement offered to partners, including UNICEF Country Offices
  • Written analyses in order to establish perspectives of future market conditions, potential funding and forecasting needs of ARVs, including innovative approaches to address supply/demand imbalances and development of a healthy market.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Monitors supplier performance as well as worldwide market developments and long- term procurement planning in order to achieve the most cost-effective means of procurement.
  • Compiles and analyses historical data and forecasts of pharmaceutical commodities; manage data requests internal and external to the organization relating to pharmaceutical supply; identify areas for analysis and opportunities to support the Medicines & Nutrition Centre’s projects and reporting requirements, partners and other divisions.
  • Any other duties or assignments as requested by the supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES:

Education, Work Experience & Technical Competencies:

Advanced university degree in business administration, commerce or law or related technical field required. Minimum two years of progressively responsible relevant professional experience, preferably at the international level.

Languages:

Fluency in Englishand knowledge of another UN language are required.
