The supervision of the mounting, start up and functional tests of the COS were carried out on RNPP site in accordance with “Methods and Test Program for the Control System of the SEBIM Pilot-Operated Safety Valves for Rovno NPP, Units 1 & 2” and “Program for independent tests of the safety system for cold and hot overpressure for 1st loop. Control system of the SEBIM pilot-operated safety valves. Unit 1. №152-02/1-Пр-ТАИ-1.08”, made by the RNPP.

The period for carrying out this work was from the 20th of October to the 7th of November, 2007.

1.TEST OBJECTS:

The COS cabinets: Ser. № 058, 059, produced by DICS Intertrade Ltd.

2.TEST PURPOSES:

Check-up of the conformance between the COS and the Functional Requirements 030271720.1.100.033.FR.001, last version.

3.DOCUMENTS, Regulating test IMPLEMENTATION:

-“Functional Requirements 030271720.1.100.033.FR.001”, last version;

-“Methods and Test Program for the Control System of the SEBIM Pilot-Operated Safety Valves for Rovno NPP, Units 1 & 2, made by RNPP (NT A 391/04)”;

-“Technical Specifications” in accordancewith TSFS.COS.A3152/2.rev.6;

-“Program for independent tests of the safety system for cold and hot overpressure for 1st loop. Control system of the SEBIM pilot-operated safety valves. Unit 1. №152-02/1-Пр-ТАИ-1.08”.

4.Test equipment:

The tests were carried out using the simulator MS600, produced by DICS Intertrade Ltd, which simulates signals from the object of control. The manual control switches and indicators from the MCR and ECR were connected to the system. A calibrator was used as a voltmeter, current source and temperature source.

5.Conditions for Implementing of the tests:

The conditions for implementing of the tests are in accordance with the normal working conditions and requirements of “Methods and Test Program for the Control System of the SEBIM Pilot-Operated Safety Valves for Rovno NPP, Units 1 & 2, made by RNPP (NT A 391/04)” 030271720.1.100.033.M.001, and “Program for independent tests of the safety system for cold and hot overpressure for 1st loop. Control system of the SEBIM pilot-operated safety valves. Unit 1. №152-02/1-Пр-ТАИ-1.08”.

7.Tests Results:

The tests results are represented in these documents:

-Graphical representation of the dynamic tests of the COS Ser. №059 (Appendix 4).

8.Remarks and recommendations:

8.1. Changes were made regarding the program maintenance in the operator stations in connection with data archiving:

-Data archiving and updating is now based on a Revolver algorithm with a period of 400 days;

-No changes were made to the control algorithm.

8.2. Training of the maintenance personnel of the COS and the Simulator was conducted.

8.3. During the setting up of the COS three input modules of type YK1 IIN-IO were damaged (the damage was done by a short circuit between the power supply for the pressure sensors and the input signals, pins 1 and 6 of the modules). The damaged modules were repaired using elements, taken from spare modules of type YK1 TCI-IO (temperature transmitters), because their number (of the spare modules)was enough. An act regarding the damaging of the modules will be made and sent to WEIRVALVESCONTROLS.

9.Conclusions:

9.1. The tests results confirm the conformance of the COS cabinets: Ser. № 058, 059 with the “Technical Specifications” in accordancewith TSFS.COS.A3152/2.rev.6.

9.2. The COS for cold and hot overpressure protection for 1st loop is ready for complex tests.

Remark:

Between the 6th and the 7th of November 2007 complex tests of“ИПУ КД” were carried out by means of activating the electromagnets of the electromagnetic valves – SV and IV from the switches for manual control of 1 and 2 tandems and by real increasing of the pressure in the 1st loop to the point of opening (hydraulic). The COS confirmed its conformance with the working conditions and it is ready for test exploitation.
