HELP@HOME WORKER
JOB DESCRIPTION
Title of Post: Help@HomeWorker
Purpose of Post:To provide home based services which could include, cleaning, shopping, dog walking, companionship and any other non-personal care duties which will improve the quality of life of our clients
Accountable to: Help@Home Supervisor
Responsible for: This service does not carry line management responsibilities.
Location: clients homes in East Sussex
Hours: Flexible.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Delivery of the Help@Home Service
- To provide the home based services which have been agreed in the clients personal plan
- To work only within the scope of practice which you are competent to complete and within the knowledge framework that has been provided
- To deliver the service to a high standard and in a compassionate manor
- To make and maintain contact with the clients to arrange or reschedule appointments as necessary.
- To deliver a person centred service.
- To actively promote Age UK East Sussex services.
- To feedback to the Supervisor or H&CDM any concerns you may have around safeguarding issues
- To review home and venue risk assessments at each subsequent visit
- Not to carry out work not on the clients plan unless agreed with the Manager or Co-ordinator
- To ensure that all clients are aware of their next appointment.
- To ensure you have been issued with all the correct supplies with sufficient for any new/prospective clients and to monitor stock levels
- To submit expense forms and time sheetsto the Co-ordinatorby the 8th of each month.
- To report any near misses, minor or major incidents/accidents to either the Co-ordinator or the Health & Community Development Manager as soon as possible and record on the relevant form.
- To work with theCo-ordinator to review and evaluate the delivery of the service
- To work withinthe policies and procedures of Age UK East Sussex.
Managing data
- To ensure all client information/details are treated as private and confidential in accordance with Age UK’s confidentiality policy.
- To ensure all client information/details are stored and transported according to Age UK’s Data Storage and Transportation policy.
- To keep information up to date so invoices are accurate
- To follow up “DNA” clients in accordance with the service’s procedure.
- To use Age UK East Sussex’s data base through the relevant smart phone app
Staff Development
- To attend the service’s mandatory induction and refresher training sessions.
- To participate in supervision,training and development opportunities and other events as appropriate
- To keep up-to-date withservice developments.
Quality processes
- To understand and act to the standards laid down by Age UK East Sussex
- To ensure that the correct up to date template documents are used.
- To ensure that all external complaints are logged and acted upon according to the complaints procedure
- To ensure that all non conformance of your service/activity (i.e. where the service/activity does not meet the standards expected) are raised with your line manager and logged on the appropriate form with agreed preventative action

- To undertake any other duties as may be reasonably required
