Step 1: Prepare the Room for Treatment

Treatment Protocols:

Step 1: Prepare the room for treatment.

·  Empty all drawers and dressers.

·  Remove all clothes and soft items. Place in trash bags for washing and drying.

·  Place all hard items in trash bags and place in garage for treatment.

·  Pull back all carpeting exposing the tack strips.

·  Disassemble bed frame completely.

·  Remove all pictures and items from the walls for treatment.

·  Remove curtains and window treatments for treatment.

Step 2: Vacuum

·  Along all tack strips

·  Electrical outlets

·  Mattress seams

·  Box spring cracks and crevices

·  Backs of wall items

·  Headboard

·  Curtains or window treatments

Step 3: Treat

A.  Steam Treatment

·  Fill and turn on the steam machine

·  Apply Sterifab and or Bedlam to all items left in the room for knockdown of activity.

·  Use the hot steam on all items to eliminate eggs

·  Dust all wall voids, electrical outlets and tack strips

·  Apply residual insecticide and growth regulator to all items in the room to include dressers, pictures, etc.

·  Place Nuvan strips in all bags. Leave for 72 hours.

B.  Manual Treatment

·  Fill the ULV machine with pyrethrine and growth regulator, turn on.

·  Apply Sterifab and or Bedlam to all items left in the room for knockdown of activity.

·  Dust all wall voids, electrical outlets and tack strips

·  Apply residual insecticide to all items in the room to include dressers, pictures, etc.

·  Place Nuvan strips in all bags. Leave for 72 hours.

C.  Heat Treatment

·  ApplyHeat: Electric bed bug heaters are placed within the space; introducing and re-circulating heated air with a target temperature not to exceed135°F for the controlled application of heat.

·  Monitor: Temperatures are monitored in real time from a remote location usingwirelesssensors to ensure lethal temperatures are reached without damaging the space and its contents.

·  Move Air: High temperature fans move heated air throughout the space to reach insects in cracks and crevices or high infestation zones.

·  Place Nuvan strips in all bags. Leave for 72 hours.

Step 4: Place monitors and schedule the follow up inspection.

Step 5: Place the mattress and box spring covers on the items.

Clean up: Reassemble furniture and make sure to remove all pesticides.
