Press Release

Win.Net Internet creates a new division: American CLEC

The purpose of American CLEC, is to help Internet Service Providers, (ISP’s), become a Competitive Local Exchange Carrier, (CLEC). Any ISP that becomes a CLEC is able to take advantage of huge financial savings as well as take advantage of new product and service offerings.

Louisville, KY, April 22, 2005 Win.Net Internet is a pioneer in the Internet business, having been in

operation since 1990. Win.Net began as a software development company developing the first Windows

application, (WinNet Mail), for accessing the Internet and provided Internet access services to their WinNET

Mail customers.

In 2002 Win.Net became a Competitive Local Exchange Carrier, (CLEC), making it possible to take

advantage of huge savings on telephone access. A CLEC is really a mini telephone company which can

provide customers with normal telephone service along with assorted additional services such as voice

mail, caller ID, call forwarding, and more; all providing additional potential sources of revenue.

Unfortunately becoming a CLEC is a very daunting endeavor for most. Michael Tague, President of

Win.Net Internet saw that a number of ISP’s were not taking advantage of the opportunities of becoming a

CLEC because of the mountain of paperwork involved as well as the amount of time it would take. So he

decided to create American CLEC as a consulting company to assist ISP’s through the paperwork and

governmental requirements of becoming a CLEC.

Mr. Tague wanted to break the four main myths that seem to keep ISP’s from becoming a CLEC:

#1 It takes hundreds of thousands of dollars to become a facilities based CLEC.

#2 OnemusthavehighpricedTelecommunications Lawyers, Consultants, and Staff to start

and operate a CLEC.

#3 It takes two years minimum to become operational as a CLEC.

#4 You can save just about as much as a customer of a CLEC as being one.

“We want to make it fun” says Tague, “We go to the client’s ISP, talk about their network and then

prepare a detailed proposal for them. Everything is laid out; the transition costs, itemized savings,

and fees.” An interesting approach by American CLEC is that there is little up-front costs, most of

the fees are paid on the back end out of the savings gained by the client. This arrangement pretty much

guaranteesthat if the client doesn’t save money they aren’t out any expense.

American CLEC takes the client from zero to a fully operational facilities based CLEC in about

six months. “We leave you with a fully operational CLEC that will save you thousands and thousands of

dollars.” said Mr. Tague.

Many don’t understand why an ISP would even want to be a CLEC until they see the cost savings. By

becoming a CLEC an ISP can save as much as 85% on a each circuit, and realize an overall savings of 40% to

50%. That’s thousands of dollars saved each and every month, which is something most people can readily

see as important.

Mr. Tague and his team will be giving a special seminar about American CLEC at the upcoming

ISP industry trade show ISPCON, on May 24th at 3:00 pm, in Baltimore, MD.
