Fall 2013 Salmon Heroes Program Registration

Classroom Presentation & Field Study (grades 4-12)

Oct. 1-Dec. 6

This investigative, hands-on program explores the lifecycle of salmon and familiarizes students with their local watershed. During the 1-hour classroom presentation and 3-hour field study, students will identify salmon habitat needs and limiting factors, learn about salmon anatomy and analyze water quality. Students will investigate the health of the Walker/Miller CreekWatershed and determine the suitability for salmon as they journey through their life cycle. Through in-depth discussion and analysis of behaviors, students will also examine their own impacts on salmon habitats and the greater environment. The field study includes a large-group motor skills game.
