Final Blog Project
1. Make sure your blog is a reflection of your reading life this semester, by including sound clips, pictures, poems, quotations, etc. that connect to your reading.
2. Add 3 more entries written on your independent reading book that you choose from the following list:
a. Diary/Journal entry from the main character’s perspective
b. Mini Theme Analysis
c. Prediction of what happens to the main characters after the end of the book
d. Connection between your book and something else: movie, tv show, song lyrics, other books, articles, poems, or stories, or your life experience.
e. Compose a song or poem based on your book and include it on your blog, along with a reflection of how it connects to the book.
f. Select a photograph or symbol of some kind, cut and paste it into your blog, and explain how it connects to your book.
3. Grading will be done with the following in mind:
a. A “5” (best score) means your blog is complete, creative, thoughtful, and shows that you have read at least three books and analyzed your reading.
b. A “4” (kind of like “B” work) means your blog is complete, has 2-3 creative elements, shows thought in 3-4 places, and demonstrates that you have read at least three books and enjoyed them.
c. A “3”(kind of like “C” work) means your blog is mostly complete (1-2 assignments missing), shows creativity in 1-2 places, contains evidence of thoughtfulness, and displays evidence that you have read at least three books and analyzed your reading.
d. A “2” means your blog is missing more than two assignments, you are starting to show creative elements in one area, you are not thinking thoughtfully, but rather just summarizing, and you still have evidence that you have read at least three books.
e. A “1” means your blog is missing several assignments, utterly lacks creativity and thoughtfulness (a lot of summary), and has evidence of only one book being read.
