We are looking forward to having you come out to worship with us at Living Stone Prison Church. We wanted to give you a few guidelines about what to expect.

We meet at the gate at 6:15 and the guard will ask for your driver’s license. They will then give you a visitor pass and a safety buzzer to go in with. I will escort you to our worship area which is about a 2 block walk (so wear comfortable shoes and warm clothing in the winter). We will worship until around 8:30 with a time for fellowship afterward. As soon as the worship area is picked up, we will escort you to the gate again (around 9:00).

Please feel free to mingle with the men and shake their hands, tell them your first name, but maybe don’t talk about your children or where you live. Outsiders are required to sit together so staff can easily see them. Also, per prison rule there are no hugs allowed.

Don’t take in a cell phone or anything at all in your pockets if possible. If you need to take in medication or something let us know and we will ask staff permission. If an inmate gives you something to bring out (letter etc.) don’t do it. This is also prohibited.

Dress code:

Visitors must follow a dress code implicated by staff. Apparel such as hooded shirts, plain white T-shirts, halter tops, including midriff and tube tops, sleeveless, shoulder less, backless or low cut blouses, tops or dresses, mini-skirts, shorts, capris, swimsuits, bandanas, hats, see-thru or revealing clothing is PROHIBITED! Visitors must dress in an appropriate matter including shoes. (No open toed shoes/sandals).

We know most people coming to worship with us have to travel a fair distance to the prison and we appreciate it very much! We would suggest taking a sack lunch along or stopping at a gas station along the way and grapping something to eat. You might not be hungry at 4:00 when you leave, but by 9:00 when you get out you might find yourself rather famished if you don’t eat something beforehand.

We look forward to you joining us in worship and having an opportunity to fellowship with the inside church. Your presence will bless us all.
