Parade Participation Registration & Release of Liability
The Bostwick Cotton Gin Festival will be held on Saturday, November 4thwith the parade starting at 11:00 a.m. Parade participants must be on site at the assembly point by 10:00 a.m. Everyone must register and be in line by 10:00 a.m. at one of the following sites: tractors on Rocky Hill, or clubs, floats, organizations, etc. on Second Street. Parking will be provided at the assembly point. Please limit vehicles in the staging/starting area to actual parade entries. Regardless of circumstances, no one will be allowed to participate after 10:00 a.m. due to increased participation. Pre-registration entry forms should be mailed to Cotton Gin Festival, P.O. Box 66, Bostwick, Georgia 30623 by October 25th. If you have questions reference the tractor section, please contact Butch Malcom at 706/474-1372. Please read the following guidelines carefully for safety purposes:
Guidelines for participation:
- There is no fee to participate in the parade
- Tractors accepted
- Floats welcomed
- Organizations and clubs welcomed - must have name identifiable or indicated
- Automobiles must be of vintage, restored quality
- Animals must be well-behaved and must wear a bag or deposits must be cleaned up by participants
- If you are completing this entry for a multi-unit participant such as a club please give approximate number of units (units ______)
- No golf carts, four-wheelers, gators, lawn mowers
Safety is our foremost objective:
- Keep your eyes and ears open. Be aware of your surroundings. Enjoy the day and crowd, but stay in control of your entry and riders at all times
- Keep a safe distance (25 feet) from the vehicle in front, keep an eye on the vehicle in front, stay in the middle of the road, and maintain a safe slow steady speed
- Keep moving as the parade ends and circle back to assembly area
- Please do not throw candy or other favors during the parade
- Drivers must be 16 years old
