If you are planning to take or retake the ACT or SAT, you may register by way of or See Stevenson’s website for test dates.

Review college application requirements by going to a college’s website. If teacher recommendations are required, contact recommenders now (personally) in order to provide them with ample time.

Meet with visiting college representatives at Stevenson. Dates & times are posted in Naviance. 1) Sign-up on Naviance. 2) Print the sign-up confirmation page. 3) Put your ID# on the page. 4) Have the page signed by your classroom teacher at least 2 days PRIOR to the visit and bring it to the College/Career Center on the day of the visit.

  • 9:30 am (late arrival) on 8/29, 9/12
  • 7:30 am(2nd day-of-week) on9/4, 9/10
  • 2:35 pm (8th hour) on 9/9, 9/17

Attend theNorth Suburban Conference (College Athletes), Sunday,September 8 at 4:00 pm at Lake Forest High School.

Attend a Common Application Workshopto learn how to use this online application. Dates are:

Sept. 10, 2:30 pm (8th hour)

Sept 17, 7:30 am (second day of week)

Sept. 20, 9:30 am (late arrival day)

Applying to University of Illinois? Learn how to complete their online application on Monday, Sept. 16 during 8th hour in Room 2104.

Go to the National College Fair at Navy Pier in Chicago, Saturday, September 28thfrom 11:00 am to 3:00 pm (or in Milwaukee on Sunday, September 29thfrom 12-3:30 pm). Information, list of exhibitors, and directions are available at

Attend the Performing and Visual Arts Fair, Wednesday, October 13th from 1-3:30 at Chicago High School for the Arts. Information, list of exhibitors, and directions are available at

October 15this Stevenson’s application deadline for all public universities(particularly University of Illinois, Indiana University, and University of Michigan). Meeting this internal deadline is critical to counselors, teachers and to anyone else you’ve asked to submit supplementary materials (secondary school reports, recommendations, etc.) on your behalf.

If you are applying “Early Decision” or “Early Action”, do so byOctober 15th for the same reasons cited above.

Attend the ICE College Fairat the College of Lake County on Thursday, October 17th from 6 to 8pm

November

If you need to take the SAT Subject tests and have not yet registered, sign-up for the January test date; this is the final test date for seniors.

December

Deadline for all college applications is December 1!!!Requests to teachers and counselors for supplementary materials received after this date could take considerably longer to complete.

Check college websites for information regarding housing accommodations.

January

If you intend to apply for financial aid, attend Financial Aid Information Night, Wednesday, January 8that 7:00 pm in the Performing Arts Center.

If you want to reserve a room in a residence hall at a large university, fill out and return the housing application when you receive it. (Most deposits are partially refundable).

File all financial aid forms.

February

If necessary, make a second visit to the college(s) in which you are still interested.

Pick up the local scholarship packet in the CCC.

March

If you are planning to attend a community college, apply now.

Decisionsarrive from colleges that don’t utilize rolling admissions.

April

Decide by April 30 which college you will attend. You must inform each college which accepted you of your final plans. This must be done by May 1.

June

Graduation!
