One-Eighty is a psychology based behaviour support charity for children and young people (aged 4-18) and their families. We support children and young people who struggle to manage their behaviour as a result of family breakdown, abuse, other traumatic events or familial mental health. Through intensive therapeutic, family and community provisions, we aim to bring children, young people and families back to a place where they are able to engage successfully in social activities that they previously could not. i.e. education. Our innovative and experienced professional team provide short term, intensive interventions that bring about positive changes in a cost effective manner, both one-to-one interventions or wider group projects.

Your role will be focused into two areas:

1)The first objective of this role is to support the development of One-Eighty into Swindon in line with One-Eighty’s Three Year Development Plan.

This requires you to efficiently and confidently support the strategic growth of the team and the development of networks and relationships in this new locality. You will be working closely with the part-time Swindon Team Leader. Their role will be to implement the One-Eighty model in this new area and your role will compliment this by driving business towards this new team, through marketing, networking, and fundraising. This will involve assessing the needs of the Swindon team and, in discussion with the Development Manager, generating ideas of how to achieve these fundraising goals. You will be guided by the Development manager (as part of the Shared Services team) based in Oxford and will be required to maintain regular contact with this team.

You will be set the exciting target of developing a sustainable model of working in Swindon through building relationships and generating funds. Both elements of the role are essential for ensuring that the team runs as smoothly and efficiently as possible, in order to enable staff to facilitate positive behavioural change in the lives of some of the most vulnerable young people.

You will also be required to develop and maintain crucial relationships with professionals, with an emphasis on Swindon, by attending team meetings, delivering presentations about the charity to interested parties, and developing a working model for case work in that location. You will have to be someone who is easy to get along with, and you must be approachable. You will have to be able to absorb information quickly, and deliver this information efficiently and with confidence.

2)The second objective of this role is to support the fundraising and administration of One-Eighty across all sites

This will involve you supporting One-Eighty development team to ensure that as a charity, we achieve our development and fundraising goals. This will include developing a selection of tenders and grants that may be location specific or project specific. You will also be accountable for the administration that this role can generate – booking meeting rooms, organising events, producing flyers, sourcing office space are a few things that may come up, but is not an exhaustive list

Through experience and discussion with the Development Manager, this role may develop and alter over time, and is therefore not fixed to the duties outlined here. The role is as demanding as it is rewarding and exciting. No day will be the same, and no young person we work with leaves unchanged.

PLEASE NOTE: this job description outlines the key accountabilities of, and output required from, the post-holder. It is not a definitive summary and the role may well change and evolve over time.
