U9 Rules

1)All players to be Under 9 on the 1st Sept 2015

2)Each team shall comprise of a recommended 8 players.

3)The pitch shall be no maximum of 16yds long

4)The ball will be an incrediball

5)Each game shall consist of 1 innings per team – of 12-16 overs.

6)Batting & Scoring

  • The batting side shall be divided into pairs, each pair batting for 3 or 4 overs depending on total overs per innings
  • Each team starts batting with a score of 200 runs.
  • Each time a batter is out, 5 runs are deducted and the other batter of the pair faces the next ball.
  • A batter may be out bowled, caught, run out, stumped, hit wicket.
  • There is no LBW law unless the batter deliberately blocks the ball with a leg or foot.
  • Runs will be scored in the normal way, as will byes.
  • 2 runs will be awarded to the batting team for each wide ball and no-ball bowled, but no extra ball will be allocated, except in the final over of each innings when, in addition to the 2 runs, an extra ball will be bowled.

7)Bowling and Fielding

  • Each player on the fielding side is permitted bowl. No player can bowl more than 3 overs.
  • Bowling will take place from one end only.
  • Bowling should be over arm where possible.

8)With the exception of the wicketkeeper no fielder may field within 10 yards of the wicket, measured from the middle stump except behind the wicket on the off-side. A fielder may move into the restricted area to field a ball provided he/she was outside the area when the stroke was mad

9)Points:

-4 points for a win

-2 points for a tie

-1 point for a defeat

-2 points for a rained off game that cannot be re-arranged

-4 points - If a game is cancelled for any reason (ie unable to raise a side) other than bad weather and cannot be rearranged the non- offending team will be awarded a win.

10)Insurance. All players are to be covered by adequate insurance in respect of personal injury whilst competing in league matches.
